This is so good! I am only part way through, but pastor Bevere has given me new insight into "the law / legalism" that I had not fully comprehended. I am understanding more about Grace, Obedience and other subjects that the author has written entire chapters about. I plan to read over a number of chapters to gain a clearer and better understanding of what he is saying. My husband and I had a discussion about some of the subjects covered in this book so that I can gain understanding from my husband's wise interpretation. The information written is in depth and filled with meaning. He also gives a different slant on "Once Saved, Always Saved" that many people do not consider. I have had to examine my motives and my thought processes as I read through this book. This is a great tool that I will be able to access time and again. I also have read "The Bait of Satan" and I believe his books to be inspired. ... show more

This is a very good book. I do not agree with Bevere's belief that a person can lose their God given salvation unless of course they were decieved into believing they were saved apart from the choosing of God by grace and grace alone. Otherwise, Bevere has some very good teaching in regard to obedience to Christ. Many people are confused about the security of salvation and I can understand why. It is an assurance given by the Holy Spirit through the truth found in the revelation of Scripture. ... show more

John Bevere writes very good books and this is one of them. As I'm reading along about obedience to God, I'm getting convicted in my heart by the Holy Spirit. What Mr. Bevere has written has caused me to consider my life and my habits in such a way that I've been moved to act. Why do we have so many excuses why we can't do that thing in our life that we've wanted to accomplish forever? Mine has been weight. Couldn't do it no matter how hard I tried. Then in reading what Mr. Bevere had to say about obedience and all the reasons I might want to consider trying it, I've started. Nope, not doing it perfectly and not getting all caught up in the "law" that I might create about success and failure. I've failed already but I start in again the next day and try to make it happen. And in the process...I've lost 5 lbs. in two weeks!! That's one BIG hallelujah for myself!! I'm making small progress but I've come to know one thing. When I say yes! to God, He blesses me and the efforts I make. He says "I am with you always" and that's what I'm experiencing right now. Because I'm saying yes to Him, I'm no longer afraid to look around and see what He thinks. He's here, right beside me, and I know He's pleased with what I'm attempting to do, day by day, one foot in front of the other. I can tell you that I cannot put this book down. It speaks to me and is filled with truth from God's word. It disputes easy believism and can help those who are walking in the wilderness. I am not charismatic as John Bevere maybe but I know that the Holy Spirit is speaking through John. I plan now to buy another book of his soon!
