I purchased an A4 and a B5. Both are gorgeous, hefty books, but the smaller B5 (only slightly smaller than a standard school sheet of notebook filler paper) is the one I'm actively using right now and so is the one I'm reviewing, but both are similar. The purple color is very nice and appears the same 'in person' as it does online. The pages are very smooth and every kind of pen I've used so far glides like jelly and is almost addictive to write upon. Smears can happen, but as long as you let the page dry for a minute before turning it, it shouldn't smear at all after that (unless you spill something, but that's on you). I draw margins down the left with a ruler and pencil and wait about half a day or until the next day to erase my margins with a white artist's hi-polymer eraser (Pentel) that also glides on the page and erases cleanly. I wait to ensure that I don't smear the ink. I've used three kinds of pens now, and none of them have bled through. My gel point is the bold Pilot pen (black), my fountain pen is the Lamy Safari medium nib (black), and my brush pen is one of the Fudenosuke sizes, but I can't read the font on the pen (too small) to tell you the size of the brush. The medium nib Lamy Safari is pretty intense in this book and the bold Pilot pen would be too intense for some people- not with bleed through (there is none, as said)- but just in being able to keep letters legible and inside the lines. The Lamy medium nib is really too thick for this book, so I'm going to get a fine or ultra fine Lamy pen to use with these books. I've also used the Sharpie smear guard highlighters that look awesome in this book and don't bleed through. The Bic Wite-Out correction pen (shake and squeeze) doesn't bleed through but is disappointing, because these pages are not as white as the correction fluid. You might want to consider getting the cream colored correction fluid, if that's a product you use, although, I haven't yet tried the cream shade to know if that looks better on these pages than the white one. I'm up to nearly page 100 now with my 'writing stuffs,' and the book is holding together very strongly. Lays mostly flat, and I like how it falls open on the desk and when I flick through it with my thumb. The only concern I have would be for the binding as I continue through and then the longevity for the binding after I'm finished writing in the book. The book shows no signs of wear, though, but I'll change my review if the binding does show wear at some point, because with a 400 page book, you really do need a sturdy binding. But I trusted it enough to buy a second B5 sized book for now. As said, writing on these super smooth pages that also don't smear (if you wait just a minute) is pretty addictive, so I'll be needing the second B5 book I bought soon. I really hope I've found 'my notebook' in this one.

This was somehow bigger than I expected. My visualization of the dimensions fell short. This is a great journal with lots of space. I love how sturdy and yet flexible it is. The gray color is actually really pretty nice. I say that because I usually skip the classic colors for brighter ones. But this is really nice. It's definitely a keeper.

There is a review that mentions there are 400 sheets (800 pages) in this journal. I am SOO glad I did not base my order on that review, as there are 200 sheets in the journal, which is 400 pages. I did search for a 400 sheet smyth sewn journal, but did not find one. The cover is slick and moderately bendable, and the binding is definitely smyth sewn. The ribbons are a bit short to be useable, but I wont use those much anyway. I am very happy with this purchase, and am going to use these to handwrite the Bible. This will take me awhile and I would definitely purchase more of these if I need them.

I really like this notebook. I write a lot so I needed something with a lot of pages so I don’t have to keep buying more notebooks lol. I like the way the pages feel. They are very smooth and my ballpoint pen glides across the pages whenever I write (which helps a lot because I write in cursive). Also it doesn’t bleed through. I haven’t tried with markers or a gel pen yet but the pages feel thick enough that I don’t think it will bleed through. I like how this notebook has an elastic to hold the notebook closed. It’s a useful feature for those of us who like to “wreck journals”. It has 2 bookmarks which I don’t have too much use for. I can definitely use one but I don’t need the second lol. Maybe if I’m reviewing notes or something idk. The notebook is true to its color. How ever my specific color (brown) I would describe more as maybe burnt orange? I really love fall and this reminded me of fall which is why I got this color. It’s definitely true to the image though. I appreciate how they included tabs in the back of the notebook in the pocket. Both the pocket and the tabs are useful as I use my notebook for multiple purposes so it helps me keep everything organized. I subtracted one star because the packaging wasn’t the best as it was just tossed into a box without filling which may be the reason for the dents in the cover. Overall I’d give a solid 4/5 stars 🙂

My first question when looking at this journal was if there were 400 pages or 400 sheets (800 pages). This journal has 400 sheets! I was over the moon excited when I opened the package and saw the thickness of this journal. My previous journals have come from WMart and they had 326 sheets. Those lasted me just shy of two years. This one will be great for almost three years. The lines are also spaced at a college ruled distance. Super soft cover, elastic to hold the journal closed, two ribbon bookmarks. Worth every penny. I use this for Bible Journaling, so I use it every single day. As far as the bleeding, I have not wrote in it yet, but I use ball point pens, so I do not see bleeding as an issue. The color of the pages is offwhite to a very lite cream. The journal lays flat, but again, not really an issue since I hold it in my lap and journal in my bed before I go to sleep at night. I am really hoping they have this journal when I need another one.
