I've used these a ton for college. I like to carry as little as possible, so small lightweight notebooks like these are perfect. They still fit a lot of notes. And they have a convenient line for the date, so you can easily organize your notes or entries by date.

I did my pen test, as I usually do on a page of a new notebook, using at least seven brands of felt pens from Tombows and Sakuras Fudenosuke and Microns and others (not Sharpies) and they did not bleed through. I did number the pages of immediately out of the package to use it as a planner and ran out of paper at 156 meaning the one I numbered was 2 pages short. Not a deal breaker, but at the same time, not correct. I haven't taken time to number another one yet. The smoothness of the paper and the dots are great for practicing brush pen or pointed pen calligraphy without the feathering out of the felt pen or the pointed pen snagging on the paper. Thus, the 5-start in spite of the shortness of pages.

These are super cute but the spine part that hold the paper together comes apart down the center of it which cause some of the papers to come undone in odd place but other than that i love
