We purchased this toy for my one year old and fell in love. The music is fun, the repeating sound is fun, and there are so many sounds to dance to! I’m not sure why people claimed they had issues with volume, because it’s easily adjustable and decently loud. My kids (ages 1-6) all love this toy.

The media could not be loaded. Edit: Seller has contacted me and is sending a new toy so I have changed my rating until I know that this one will work. Seller was quick and polite with their response and with sending out a replacement. My daughter opened this gift for her birthday on September 14th. It's already not working and it's only October 10th. I am super disappointed because she is only 1 and doesn't understand why it isn't playing music anymore. It still dances a little but no music plays. I ordered it early for her birthday so I can't even return it because it's outside of the return window.

We bought this cactus toy for our daughter when she was a baby. She hated it at first but we kept introducing it to her and alas, it became her best friend. She likes to hide things in random spots around the house and unfortunately she hid it in the washing machine when my mom was visiting- she doesn’t know to check the washing machine before starting a load… the cactus stopped working so we ordered another one from the same link we ordered the first one and it’s a completely different cactus. It’s like the low budget version. It’s smaller and cheaper looking and it doesn’t even play children’s songs.. it plays adult songs that have inappropriate lyrics for kids??? Very confused. We’ll be returning and reordering from a different seller and hoping for better results! I don’t normally leave reviews but no one was saying anything about the downgrade in product quality so i felt obliged.

Let me start be saying I bought this toy for a different purpose than it was intended. I have two older children nearing puberty and trying out their attitudes. I purchased this toy as a way to point out their tone of voice while keeping the correction funny so they can learn to laugh at themselves and adjust. For that purpose this toy is useless. I would turn it on when voices begin to stray into the unpleasant and it would not pick up anything being said. Loud noises and loud voices were all that were picked up. When it comes to the cactus as a baby toy, it is too breakable for young children. I have 4 children, some who play gently, some who do not. It would be easy for a child to break this accidentally. I'm not sure how the interior of the cactus is constructed, but I could imagine some shattered plastic poking through the fabric cover easily. It should never be used unsupervised. Also, because the microphone picking up noise isn't very sensitive, it will teach babies to make loud noises in order to be heard. Something most babies and toddlers do not need Encouragement in. If you have a soft spoken, gentle child who needs encouragement to speak louder and will most certainly treat this toy as though it's fine china, this toy is for you. Otherwise I would look elsewhere.

This toy has both our baby and the adults entertained. It is silly and captivating. Whether it’s just a little sound or a full sentence, the cactus will pick it up and repeat it in a very high-pitched, sort of robotic baby voice. It took us a minute to realize the toy was repeating us because the sound is so distorted. It definitely has all of us laughing. Baby was a little confused at first but entertained! She is 6 months old now. I look forward to using this when she starts babbling more so that it will seem like the toy is responding to her when she talks. I will say that the few pre-recorded songs programmed in the cactus are very annoying and fast-paced. I would have enjoyed if there were a few more catchy, less annoying songs. The cactus is soft to the touch. My daughter is very into textures right now, so she enjoys touching the cactus while it is dancing. She is also extremely captured by lights, so the little lights inside the cactus that flash while talking go a long way with her. We typically use this at our house, which is a relatively quiet environment. When first turned on, this toy is loud. I am very glad we opted for the volume-control option. There are really just 2 options- louder or quieter. We always opt for quieter version as I think the automatic loud option would be overwhelming for both of us. Overall I would recommend this toy and would consider purchasing it as a gift!
