Put them to work as soon as I received them. The spindles are well made, no rough edges, fit the grider arbor exactly, and will probably last longer than the grinder. I have one generic complaint, though. The set screws are, of necessity, very small and difficult to handle with any finesse. Like any other tiny screw, once dropped it is lost forever. This is not a Vine program item. I paid for this out-of-pocket. Pros: Everything you need is in the package. While this is not a high-precision item, It functioned perfectly. It installed easily on the 1/2 inch shaft of my 1/4 hp motor. I tried it out with a 6 inch buffing wheel and a six inch wire wheel. It ran very smoothly. I really can't say that it was completely without vibration, but I saw no effect on the wheel operation or on the motor. Cons: None as to the actual use of the adapter. BUT, as noted by an other reviewer, the threaded shaft and nut are propriety to the manufacturer and not any standard thread size. This means that you can't buy or thread another nut if you lose or damage it. Another drawback is that you get only one nut, which means you have no available replacement and you can't adjust the position of the wheel further out on the threaded shaft away from the motor body so as to have more working room. Conclusion: The is a bargain price for a very versatile decently made arbor adapter. I liked it so much that I ordered a second one and had the same results as with the first. I did not have any of the quality control issues mentioned by other reviewers. I'm getting a whole new use out of my motor. It's worth the buy. TO THE MANUFACTURER: Please improve this item by using a common standard thread size, Metric, SAE, or other. Please also include another nut in the package. Or, at least provide a way to obtain replacement parts, specifically the nut for the threaded shaft and the set screws to secure the attachment to the motor shaft. Make this into the 100% well-designed product it should be. FOLLOW-UP: After a year of use, I found that the limitation on this adapter is about six inches and the wheel should be light, i.e. wire wheel or buffer. An eight inch wire wheel caused too much vibration (probably as much because it isn't perfectly balanced) and I would not attempt a heavy grinding wheel. Otherwise, the six inch wire wheel, buffers, and smaller abrasive wheels still works perfectly. ... show more

the tapered spindles are fairly heavy duty and seem to be true when they spin. The issue i have is the set screw that is provided is not long enough when you use the reducing sleeve. It is so short the set screw goes past the threads and it is not able to do its job to secure the spindle to the shaft of the motor. I had to obtain longer set screws to secure them to the shaft. this is only an issue when using the reducing sleeve, but that is why i bought this brand!. When using the reducing sleeve, i did notice a slight wooble , not a game changer, but worth noting. Update 2/8/25 I want to mention that the seller has responded to my review and has offered a full refund for my inconvenience. I believe that this type of response, any acknowledgement really, is what is needed in this world. The media could not be loaded. Fast delivery, product in excellent condition, works great to covert old washing machine motors or old a/c blower motors into bench grinder/ buffer or knife sharpeners. Easy to assemble, minimal vibration level , build quality was excellent.

The spindles appear to be well-made, durable, and exactly the size and shap that I need for my workshop. Unfortunately, the brittle, thin plastic clamshell packaging had broken open in transit, and only one of the four set screws made it to me. Without four set screws, the spindles are unusable.

These worked perfectly very pleased. I did not notice any abnormal vibrations. The fitment was perfect. Definitely worth the price. I had an old bench grinder that was given to me that work great but was missing all the hardware for installing wheels and guards.
