This little shelving unit seems sturdy enough for its intended use. It's straightforward and easy to assemble, especially if you have your own smallish phillips head screwdriver; the tool that comes with the kit is awkward to use. It would earn 5 stars if it included actual wood or plastic plugs to cover the screw heads, as do all the other shelving units, big and small, that I've built over many years. Instead it comes with small, thin, round white stickers, which surely will rub off or simply fall off very quickly. Half of the stickers were stuck to the packing tape that wrapped everything so they tore while removing them. On the other hand, the lettered stickers identifying each piece for assembly do NOT come off without scratching the white finish. There might be a solvent that would remove them, but I'm concerned it also might ruin the finish. All in all, an inexpensive, functional piece.

I’ll start off by saying, if you’re looking for something beautiful, this shelf might not be it for you (at least if you order it in white). Half of the pieces had small chips on the corners or were slightly discolored in random spots, but that is not an issue for what I need it for. Be prepared to fully assemble it, though! I work in a very small office cramped with 3 desks and a storage cabinet. I’ve inherited a desk that has a double-monitor, pen organizer, and a postage meter that take the entire length of the desk, so I’ve had to get creative in making the most of my small space. I started looking for desktop printer stands that I could set the postage meter on, but a lot of them were 15-17” long or more, and way too deep. THIS shelf is sturdy with the dimensions barely bigger than the postage meter, so the meter fits perfectly on top, and it makes my desk look & feel more sleek and organized. And I can finally clear some space in my shallow desk drawers by keeping folders, envelopes, and more on this shelf! I could see there being mixed opinions on the cost/value, especially because, as aforementioned, mine came with small chips and discoloration in the white model (you could possibly repaint or touch-up if you felt like it). Yet, this shelf is sturdy and the exact dimensions I was looking for—thus it functions perfectly for my needs! I think my recommendation on this product lies upon what you’re wanting in a desktop shelf/organizer.

This isn't a very high quality item. The screw holes don't line up well, the dowel holes are not consistent (some of the dowel holes are so deep, you might as well just not use the dowel at all), the stickers do not come off easily at all, and my item arrived with adhesive all over it. The coating is jagged. The white stickers to cover the screw holes are sheer and don't look good. Bottom line: it is cheaply made. I returned the two that I bought.

This is a great product that is durable and easy to assemble. I use them for storing puzzles for my grandchildren, in a Montessori style. The young children can see the top of the puzzles well enough, and the style/space encourages them to slide each puzzle back into place when they have finished. The neutral color matches my larger shelving unit, and the result is a tidy organized appearance. I have four of these and I love them!

Came very carefully packaged and everything was included including instructions, a small awkward hex key type "screwdriver" and an extra screw and wood peg. The organizer is held together with 8 screws and 4 wood pegs total. Some, at least 1 screw on both the top and base did not actually grab into the connecting side. The screw just turned loosely in the predrilled hole. I fixed this by adding a tiny bit of glue and a sliver of chipboard to help fill and hold the screw. This was important because the packaging states that returns are NOT possible for any unit once assembled, even only a partially assembled unit cannot be returned. But I could not have known about the loose screws until I started assembling it. The metal of the screws is really very soft, I had to be quite careful not to gouge out the Phillips head while tightening them. The individual pieces to assemble are clearly identified by small labels. The labels are difficult to remove and left a sticky residue. Once assembled the organizer is fairly sturdy and of the size stated. I think it will be okay, but just okay, for holding papers. I would not order this again.
