Just got a chance to try it out in the woods and a large field. It works better than I expected - VINE reviews are often BS - but this device really works. A couple of less than ideal aspects: 1) If your dog is less than exactly 100 feet away, it will only say "nearby". Direction tracking comes online only when the dog is more than 100 feet away. This is not a big deal because even in the woods you can turn on the light or sound and locate the dog when it's that close. 2) Even in Live mode and with the dog more than 100 feet away, you have to stand still for at least a few seconds before it will show you the direction and distance. It doesn't work while walking. These I find to be minor nuisances rather than deal breakers. What I really like about it: 1) Both the handheld and the collar have long antennas. The collar transmitter's antenna is actually sewn into a channel in the collar. That extends the range. Competing devices don't have that, from what I've seen. 2) The collar itself is sturdy, bright orange for improved visibility. I was initially concerned that the size and weight of the collar device would be too much for 80 lb dog, but she didn't even notice it. The collar device is sealed to make it waterproof. 3) the handheld is lightweight, bright screen, with a readily interpretable, well laid out interface. it fits into a pocket and has a handy wrist strap. Everything feels well built. 4) Battery - after an hour of live tracking, only one bar on the battery went down. 5) Geofencing works - it does nothing on the collar, but sounds an alarm on the handheld. You can set it to 200, 500 or 1000 feet. 6) The direction arrow is accurate, and the handheld alerts you when the compass needs to be calibrated (with a super quick and easy figure-8 motion). I'm going to try utilizing the collar's remote activated beeping feature as a recall command - training the dog to come back when she hears it. I think that should be pretty easy to do with treats. ... show more

This dog tracker did it's job perfectly! First, I needed a tracker that does not rely on cell phones or cell service because we live in the country without good service, and without a bunch of phones around to help us track the dog. We also work on ranches that are hundreds of acres with heavy brush and trees. This device uses GPS radio frequency so you don't need cell service! Yay!! Also, NO MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION needed! Who the heck wants another monthly fee?! Not me!! I waited to write my review until we actually needed to find our dog using this device. Well our dog cannot resist a rabbit or squirrel. It didn't take long before he was gone and we had no idea which way he went. Luckily I had placed the collar on him so we turned on the Controller and it immediately pointed us in the direction to start tracking him, and it worked perfectly. We were able to find him within minutes, where before it could take hours of panic searching. The biggest thing to remember is to turn the collar (tracker) on and put the collar on the dog! I didn't put it on him today and we spent 2 hours searching for him before thankfully finding him. When I put the Tracker on him, it gives me such peace of mind that we will be able to find him easily if he should take. He just can't resist chasing after rabbits, etc. ... show more

I ordered this Tracker and it was working perfectly.then one day the collar quit working. I called the number on the box and left a message,also I sent a E-mail. With in 12 hours I received a text message, an E-mail and was contacted on What's app also. The customer service team wanted to know what type of failure,and when it happened. If possible send pictures and or video,which I did. After corresponding a few days, because of time change, they sent me a compete replacement. I purchased the tracker about 2 months ago. So far, so good. The unit appears to be well made. Battery life is strong. Simple to use. Collar is sturdy and the unit overall appears well made. Durability – time will tell. Too soon to comment. Battery, too. Functionality – so far, geo fence works well, and rather accurate distances appear on the screen to show where my dog is. I like to orange color. Easy to spot. Light – Very bright green light to activate to see your dog. Additions for future units: A pouch for the controller. Chest or belt loop. Easy to access. Additional collars. Unit appears not be made for 3 dogs (I have three), though I can’t buy additional collars. Green light should stay on longer than 3 to 5 minutes. Allow this to be overridden until you turn it off. It appears to have a time out feature that is not in the manual. Customer Service is excellent. Prompt, very detailed and helpful. ... show more

Good product if you understand it's shortcomings. You need to get the satellites sunk in an open area before hiking under a canopy or forest. It updates infrequently, it advertises 10 seconds in Normal mode but seems like twenty. live tracking says five seconds , which feels like ten. So once you understand it's idiosyncrasies, it's worth the money. ... show more

This dog GPS tracker is very well made. It feels solid and durable. The screen is very bright so it works well in bright sunlight but is a bit overwhelming in the dark. The buttons are well thought out and well placed. The screen shows a bunch of little icons and the included manual does not explain them. They have a QR code that will take you to a better version of the manual online which does explain them. The high resolution of the screen makes everything clear and easy to read. It would be really nice if this had a map mode or give the GPS coordinates so I could quickly see if my escape artist is at one of her usual places. This only has an arrow to show the direction and show how far away. To test this, I put the collar on the deck where I knew it should get a clear satellite signal and went for a drive with the handheld unit. Most of the time it was totally inaccurate, pointing the wrong direction completely. I called their support and got a message that their voice mail is full so I texted. I got a call back at a very strange time (Sunday evening). He was calling from China but he spoke very good English and there was no communication problem. It turns out the positioning is updated every 5 seconds when in live mode which seems to be a problem when driving. Also magnetic fields completely baffle this thing. So that would explain the inaccuracy in the car as there is a lot of magnetic interference. So I went for a walk with this and it did a much better job with accuracy. If my cell phone gets close to it, it will lose the GPS signal though. When my dog escapes, she will run a couple miles. So there are 2 significant issues: 1) I usually use the vehicle to go get her. 2) she’s running. With the signal problem in the car and the positioning only updating every 5 seconds, this device helps but could help a lot more. Once I have visual, the beep and vibration are a huge help. It would be awesome to be able to talk to her through this, but that’s asking a bit much. As seldom as we need this, I can’t justify a phone plan and those won’t always have coverage. I have used this product for 2 weeks and love the convenience, but the collar will not recharge and is now dead and of no use. Is this common? I have tried for hours to recharge and it says it is charging but once I disconnect it, it is still dead. I hope they will replace it quickly. I will update. If it would charge I would definitely give 5 stars. UPDATE: product was traded out for another and it is working great! Great customer service and very quick response. Thanks ... show more
