  • Meh for Mist, OK for Air
*UPDATE* Since fixing the oring seat and damaged section of hose from the oring, I have managed to get this thing to work a lot better. I have found that if you put the coolant tank as high as possible it will pull enough of a vacuum and actually produce a decent mist. I was able to put my coolant tank above the nozzle head, and it has consistently been working now. However, if I put the coolant tank as far below the nozzle as the hose will allow, it will not pull a consistent vacuum, and thus the mist will be intermittent at best. I do some detail carbide and diamond drilling in glazed ceramics and glass, so I was hoping to use this to keep the drills cool, while pulling the coolant back up from the drilling catch basin. This doesn't really work. It barely pulls any vacuum to make a mist unless you cut out the damaged section from their poor o-ring setup clamping down too hard on the tube and remachine and reseat everything. Even then you have to run it at an absurd pressure, over 90PSI for me, to get it to pull anything. At 90PSI every air fitting joint leaks. I tested this with pure water, no cutting additives at all. Fortunately for me, I only wanted it for the air nozzle and not the mist feature, but someone that expects a proper vacuum mist system will be disappointed. Even only wanting it for the air nozzle, it's fairly marginal at best. ... show more

  • Great For The Price!
Works great for the price. I removed the 8 mm fitting and replaced with a standard male quick connect, same thread, and also teflon taped the ball valve at the aluminum body piece. I tapped the mounting holes to 1/4-20 (gives about a 50% thread, good enough), turned down a six inch piece of 3/8 inch steel rod to 1/4 inch for half an inch, then threaded it 1/4-20 and screwed it in. Now it works with my magnetic indicator base! As others have noted, mount your fluid reservoir about the same height as the mist unit. The flexible purple tube leaks some air, but this doesn't affect operation, and the siphon tube runs all the way to the nozzle, so no leaks there. Just used this to cut a 2 1/2 hole in 1/2 by four inch cold rolled bar. I used CRC SL2512 Soluble Oil, available on Amazon, diluted 10 to 1 with water. Set my compressor to about 30 PSI. Worked much better than squirting oil on it Also convenient for blowing chips off work so you can see layout markings. ... show more

  • Awesome for the price
I changed out the quick connect fitting to a 1/4” quick connect for pex style poly line, and used about 3’ of that to a compression adapter with a 1/4” quick connect for my compressor. I also installed a decent magnet thru one of the provided holes and spaced it out a couple of inches. I tested w/ water @ 140psi shop pressure and it does a really good job. I’m definitely happy with it. After alot of reading i found that water works just fine for the “lubricant” as apposed to actual cutting fluid. Its a lot cheaper and you can just drain the catch basin and fill the feed jug right back up. ... show more

  • Complete junk! Not air tight and zero suction.
This is the worst piece of imported junk that you can buy. There was zero sealant around the screws, air was blowing hard out of every corner. After fixing that, I was hoping to have a decent product, but nope, not the case. There was zero suction until I had a full air flow at 50 psi and even then it started to pull in about 2 inches into the tube. Increasing the pressure higher did not make a difference. This may work if you just want to blow air at something, but don't expect this piece of waste to produce any mist. AVOID - THIS IS A COMPLETELY USELESS PRODUCT!! ... show more

  • Useful junk
So this mist coolant thing is a joke. The fake loc line leaks air like a sieve. The shutoff valve...well doesn't! The only useful things are the block, tubing and nozzle (once you get it off the fake loc line). I used those parts with genuine Loc Line and a real shut off valve. Works so much better! Unless you have unlimited air, you need to modify this to make it useful. ... show more

  • Still will use it but......
I bought this to use as a fluid mister om my milling machine. I'm also glad I bought the more expensive model from a competitor. First time I hooked up air to it (25 lbs. regulated), all of the threaded connections leaked. I disassembled it and added Teflon tape to the threaded connections and reassembled it. Tried the air again, same pressure, no leaks at the threaded connections. It did leak with the valve on thru some of the plastic pieces that allow it to be adjusted in an direction. There does not seem to be a way to tighten them. I'll keep it and run air only thru it, it was only $10.00 bucks. I'll use the more expensive one for the air/fluid misting. ... show more

  • Cheap and it works
I bought 2 different nozzles, this one was the cheaper of the two. It was only 10 bucks and it works. I like the slightly more expensive nozzle better and think its worth the difference at $18. Used a surplus 2 1/2 gallon gas container for the reservoir. This nozzle does not have a check valve and does not have seperate controls for air and coolant. Still, the setup was quick and easy. ... show more
