  • Works great but drains batteries quickly. Have at least 4.
The media could not be loaded. This is a great product. We are passing it around to all the family members to dig our way out of the recent snowstorm. It has great power and and the controls are all very well designed. The powered drive works great and the tires grip well in the snow. Everything about this seems well designed. The battery drain is unavoidable given how much physical energy must be used to throw the snow, so be forewarned. You can vector the stream of snow very well. I have four batteries, three 7.5 Amp-Hour and one 5.0 Amp hour. My driveway (Average size) required draining all four with about 12 inches of relatively dense snow. Anyway the product is very fun to use, and I recommend it if you have a bunch of batteries for your Ego Lawn mower and hedge trimmer etc like I do. ... show more

  • FLASHING RED LIGHTS
I have three smaller 5 amp hour batteries. Just got our first snow in Idaho. The snow blower worked fine for a few minutes then the batteries started flashing red, Shortly after that the blower quit, We had about eight inches of snow but it was not that heavy. Looks like I wasted my money. Maybe it'll work better with 7.5 amp/hr batteries but do I really want to waste my money on new batteries if I don't know if it will work or not? Love my Tesla but these guys are not ready for prime time. ... show more

  • Chews through snow
This thing is a beast. Get a Teflon snow spray and it will throw serious snow. The only problem is that it has no brakes .. so going down a slope could be exciting if you didn't know... But now you do so you can adapt. Also thos takes batteries... Those batteries are expensive.. I have had Ego for 4 or 5ish years and 5 batteries... So far have only replaced two in that time.. so you get good longevity... Also you can find cheaper battery options... ... show more

  • Best electric snow blower available if you don't mind the price tag.
First snow of the season was 6" heavy and wet. This thing chewed through the 12" drift like a champ. If you already have a pair of 5AH batteries this will handle an 800 Sq ft driveway no problem depending on wheel and auger speed. Definitely would recommend getting th 7.5 or 10AH batteries if you have a lot more driveway as I had to recharge mine twice to clear out our private Cul De Sac. Only complaint I really have is the chute control stick drifts a bit after everything gets wet. Could I have better spent the money on a midrange gas powered blower? Probably. But if you have two rapid charging stations, not having to keep gas and oil on hand when the sudden blizzard rolls around makes this a solid trade off. ... show more

  • AWESOME power! Cut through 30’. Wish batteries lasted longer though...
I bought this model from Ace hardware with two 7.5 batteries and charger. We got 30” today and this thing cut through like butter and could throw snow literally across the street! Very impressed! The only downside is that the two batteries discharged pretty quickly. Around 40-50 minutes run time but again that was FULL power with almost three feet of snow. Overall it’s a solid machine and I’m glad I had it when I needed it. Also wish reverse had a little faster speed. ... show more

  • Pretty good for a cordless electric
First of all, the price listed without batteries or a charger seems highly inflated. Ace or Lowe's sells the SNT2400 model for about $1299 with both included, saving you at least $760 vs what is currently offered through Amazon (not sure if they're trying to sell you only one battery or two for that price; you need two). However, they're both currently out of stock online at Ace & Lowe's and the only 2 sketchy websites I found them on were at least $2100 shipped. Ouch. I called around to local Ace Hardwares and found one of the last two in stock at a Truckee store. I live in Lake Tahoe, and we get a lot of heavy wet snow. We're in the middle of a large storm currently, we got more than 8 feet of snow blown into the driveway over the last few days. It takes some serious effort in the super heavy deep stuff (as it does with all snowblowers) especially when trying to plow out the berm and on the walkway from the roof avalanches. Usually requires at least 3 or 4 passes to clear the berm, and you really have to be aggressive and muscle it to get through. The official video of the guy easily clearing the driveway of a couple inches of light fluffy snow makes me laugh. And then cry a little. Mine came with two 7.5A batteries. Depending on how high you crank up the auger and speed it lasts anywhere from 40 minutes to over an hour, which is typically all that my short 2-car driveway & walkway to the front door requires. I like the lights, ease of operation, easy to charge, easy to change batteries and clear the auger. When cranked all the way up on Turbo, it throws the Sierra cement at least 25', more if the snow is lighter. I have to adjust the chute angle so it doesn't shellack my next-door neighbor's driveway. All in all, I was quite skeptical purchasing it, because I've seen people from the city come up and buy electric snowblowers which are typically rendered ineffective by the weight and volume of our maritime snowpack up here at 6,300' elevation. (We got a record 200" in December.) When I saw the 2-stage EGO with the 24" intake and the bigger wheels I thought, all right, I'll take a gamble and try to get away from the gas cans, oil, noise and fumes of my old Toros and Hondas. I wouldn't buy one of the smaller less expensive models, and I sure as heck wouldn't spend $1800 for one without batteries or a charger. The 7.5A and 10A batteries are $350 & $450 each, and you need two. I wouldn't recommend using smaller batteries with this model. As the pictures show, this thing can handle pretty deep snow. I've been pleasantly surprised thus far. Anyway, time to head back out again. Happy snowblowing, everyone! ... show more

  • Dangerous for steep driveways
Unlike gas-powered snowblowers this has no resistance for going downhills, it freewheels. If you try to slow it down you will fall and it will shut off and continue going downhill at an ever-increasing speed until it hits something. I got injured when falling as I tried to slow it going downhill in 2 inches of snow, perhaps 8-12 inches would help slow it down? eGo needs to build in some kind of resistance to the drive wheels, maybe a regen braking system? Freewheeling is probably most efficient, but it isn't well thought out. If you have a flat surface to clear it is wonderful. Keep your batteries indoors until your ready to use them and they last long enough. Check out the youtube reviews to make your batteries last, hint: don't use it at high settings. ... show more
