  • Love this game for toddlers!
Pattern Name: Squirrel Game
My toddler is quite literally OBSESSED with this game. I gave it to her for christmas and we played it no lie, 8 time in a row. It's so cute and teaches color matching skills and motor skills. Each player has their own log which has 5 slots for acorns. There are colored acorns. Purple, yellow, blue, red and green. The objective is to get one of each. All of the acorns "live" on the tree, aka you just scatter them in the box because the box is the tree (this is great for keeping acorns contained!). You use the spinner to determine how many acorns you get, what color (if any) you get, or other plays such as stealing an acorn from a player, losing your turn or losing all of your acorns to the wind. If you spin and are able to get an acorn, you use the squirrel tongs to pick it up off the tree and put it in your log. Overall the game is super cute, my daughter isn't quite 3 yet and for the most part understands how to play this game. It's a great introduction to board games for her and super fun. ... show more

  • Perfect for three year olds
Pattern Name: Squirrel Game
Our three year old loves this game and we love playing with him. It’s simple to understand and is teaching him skills like using a spinner, taking turns and being a good sport when you lose your turn or someone else wins. The design is cute and sturdy, it doesn’t feel cheap. This game will definitely last us and give us a good amount of play before he outgrows it. ... show more

  • Cutest Game
Pattern Name: Squirrel Game
This game is really dear! My three-year-old enjoys it as well as my 10-year-old, and I do too actually :) It is sometimes difficult to find toys/games we can all have fun with as a family but this one does not disappoint. I was a little worried that my daughter (age 3) would have a meltdown when she saw one of us "sneaking" one of her acorns or losing them all to the windstorm but she pleasantly surprised me. She really enjoys "sneaking" everyone else's upon landing on that on her turn and there are plenty of giggles to go around. She also likes using the squirrel to pick up the acorns. I didn't know if she would be able to successfully pick them up at first but since the acorns are made of a rubbery material they don't slip out very easily at all. She would practice by picking them up with her own hands at first and set them in between the squirrel's hands but by the end of the the first game she had it down! In my opinion, this is a great game. The usual board games move too slow or have too many rules to keep her attention but she was fully engaged from start to finish with this one and always asks to play again. It helps with identifying & matching colors, counting, taking turns and just being a good sport in general. My son has a lot of fun with it also and enjoys playing along with his sister. We keep playing after the first person wins until we are down to the last player so everyone feels like they won either 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th place and have had a chance to fill their entire "log." With such a gap in age I am extremely happy when we score something that is equally fun for all. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for something easy to learn and engaging for younger ones. ... show more

  • Cute toddler game
Pattern Name: Squirrel Game
Such a cute game for toddlers! My three year old loves the concept and is already picking up on things on his own within a few plays. The game pieces are super cute and it helps with taking turns, color recognition, counting, etc. The game goes pretty quickly most times so it’s good for a toddler’s attention span. He even wanted to play twice in a row which was awesome quality time for us! ... show more

  • Perfect Game for Little Hands and Growing Minds!
Pattern Name: Squirrel Game
The media could not be loaded. T his squirrel game is a huge hit in our house! It’s super easy for toddlers to learn, and the gameplay is just the right length to hold their attention. It’s fantastic for building fine motor skills—using the squirrel tweezers to pick up the acorns is both fun and great for hand-eye coordination. The game also naturally teaches colors, counting, and taking turns, which makes it a great learning tool without feeling like a lesson. Even older kids (and adults!) enjoy playing along, which makes it a fun family activity. Highly recommend for toddlers and preschoolers! ... show more

  • Simple game, great for kids to play without a grownup
Pattern Name: Squirrel Game
I purchased this game for my kindergarten and first grade children. I wish I would have found it a few years ago. As other reviewers mention, the premise of the game is simple and games do not take very long. It is not the most exciting game for adults, but my children really enjoy it. The simplicity of the game is both the biggest selling point and the biggest drawback. What I like: - My kids can take this one out and play it alone. They don't need adult help for setup. - No reading necessary. My younger child is still learning to read and that can be a hangup with other games. - No really small pieces. Yes, there are lots of acorns, but they are bigger than the cherries in Hi Ho Cherry-O and are easy to spot when it is time to put the game away. - This has been a good game to teach being a good sport and not always winning. - The logs, acorns, and squirrel are good quality and are holding up to some boisterous play. What I don't like: - The game can be a little too simple, meaning they are done in just 5 or 10 minutes, though my children are at the higher end of the age range. I think this would be perfect as a "first game" for those in the 3-4 age group (as long as they are past the stage of putting things in their mouth - the acorns could pose a choking hazard). ... show more
