This steering wheel desk has been a really handy thing to keep in the car. It is simple, but it makes eating in the car or doing a quick bit of laptop work feel a lot less awkward. It hooks onto the steering wheel easily and gives a much flatter, steadier surface than trying to balance food, a notebook, or a laptop on your lap. I like that one side works well as a tray and the other side is better for writing or using a computer, so it feels more useful than a single-purpose car accessory. The little pen spot and drink area are nice details too, especially when I am parked and trying to keep everything from sliding around. It is thin enough to tuck beside a seat or in the back pocket without taking up much room, but it still feels sturdy enough for normal use. First off, the instructions say to turn your steering wheel upside down for the board to attach to your steering wheel. While this may be true for vehicles with larger steering wheels, on my 2014 Jeep Compass, I immediately realized the board fits the steering wheel regardless if my wheels are turned or not. I think they tell you to turn your wheel for liability purposes, mainly so you won’t be temped to use it while driving which is extremely dangerous and highly illegal. Or maybe I’m just lucky? Anyway, on to my review! I purchased the bamboo version of this board because randomly Amazon offered it for a price I simply couldn’t refuse. First impression out of the box, the board seemed very sturdy and solid enough to handle whatever I put on it. Attaching the board was a no brainer that literally took a second in my case. It fit snug on my steering wheel and I am highly confident the board won’t come off on it’s own due to simple physics and gravity. I first tested the board out while draw on it (leaning on it some) annd never encountered any issues. Next I put my water bottle that was full with ice & water (~3lbs) on it and yet again, the board did exactly like intended. The cupholder cutout isn’t very deep and would probably only be good for a coffee mug but I would prefer to use the center console cupholder so my cup doesn’t consume space on the tray. My only complaint is the wood may scratch your steering wheel up where the edges of the tray’s hooks lean against the steering wheel (this might not be an issue on the plastic trays). Pretty simple solution: go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and get a thin to medium thick adhesive foam strip and apply it around the edges of the tray that come in contact with your steering wheel. It prevents and scuffs or scratches from forming on your steering wheel AND it creates a tighter, more snug attachment on your steering wheel. All in all, simply the best car tray I have ever seen and used. The simplicity, the load bearing capacity and a nice modern touch at a price that won’t break the bank are all reasons why you should stop hesitating and buy one already! ... show more

Originally purchased for long road trips to be able to eat quickly and comfortably in the vehicle and then jump back on the road. I keep it in my truck as I work at a farm market where the only facility is a porta potty. I run to the Wawa or wherever and grab my lunch and can easily and comfortably eat in the truck on my break. Works in my F150 and our Subaru Ascent. Only caveat is you may have to spin your steering wheel so it’s in the upside down orientation to allow space for the tray to sit properly on the steering wheel. It sits snugly and holds my food and beverage in place well. Would recommend 👍 ... show more

The build quality is decent, just molded plastic, but adequate if it fits your vehicle. But, it's so small it doesn't fit my steering wheel, an F150. I also tried it on my girlfriends Honda and no dice. Neither steering wheel is massive. Apparently it does work for some and that's great but be sure of your steering wheel size before ordering. ... show more

Fits great on my 2023 Ford F350 work truck. My iPad w/keyboard sits on there fine, it hangs off the edge a little but it works fine. If it were deeper then I probably wouldn’t fit. Honestly, if I rested the back of iPad against steering wheel instead of using the kickstand it wouldn’t hang of the edge.
