A day pack with a solar panel charger for charging smart devices on the go is a great idea. Eccen solar foldable hiking daypack is a light weight backpack trying to achieve this goal. The backpack is made from light weight nylon and polyester fabric. You can easily fold out and fold in the day pack into storage with ease. The small package is easy for travel when not needed. The backpack consist of 2 large compartments and couple smaller divider pockets in the front compartment. The compartments are large enough to hold a 13" laptop. But I would not load up the backpack with heavy stuff. The shoulder straps are not padded and not going to be comfortable when the bag is heavy. I wish the solar panel is a little bigger with the selling price. With direct full sun light, the solar panel is still not providing enough current to provide fast charging for Samsung Note8. To fully charge the phone it will take more than 4 hours with optimum light and panel angle condition. When the solar panel is zipped on the back of the backpack it is almost straight up and down and not perpendicular to and facing the sunlight to provide maximum charging speed. The solar panel can only provide emergency charge at best for a drained phone under normal usage. As a day pack I think it is better off carry a second battery bank to charge phone or other electronic devices. I would use the day pack without the solar panel. ... show more
