  • Surprisingly nice on picky feet
I've only had these shoes a day but it's clear to me that these shoes are a cut above other shoes I've tried. As I've gotten older, my feet have become pickier. If the fit isn't right, they make my day hell. I had resorted to only playing in a pair of Under Armour cross trainers, which are amazing for golf btw, just to be able to walk without my feet screaming at me in a high, loud, whiney voice. I've tried several pairs of Foot-Joys and they were anything but a "joy" to wear. Sketchers, same, same. I used to be a golf professional and I tried to remember the most comfortable pair of shoes I ever wore. Nikes but Ecco has a reputation for being really comfortable. So off the cliff, I went. Admittedly, I took the lid off the budget perception I had and bought these after doing a lot of research. This shoe is at the top of most of the lists I reviewed. So here we are. I'm preparing for 5 days at Bandon Dunes and there are no carts on property and that's fine, I love to walk when I play but I needed good shoes that are waterproof. I got these yesterday and immediately put them on. On the advice of a good friend, I went a 1/2 size larger. The sizing here is 12-12.5, which may seem a little dicey not being a solid 12 or 12.5 but they were perfect. Depending on the shoe, I wear an 11 to a 12 so I took a chance these would be right and they are. I wanted to know if I was going to return them so I immediately put them on and walked around the house. They were initially a little tight, width-wise, but loosened up in short order to be really comfortable. The footbed is perfectly formed for my feet, oddly, and they feel like they walk you rather than the other way around. I kept them on for 4 or 5 hours and the more I wore them, the better they felt. Items of note: They have leather uppers and a sock-like insert that wraps your feet right up. I could feel the leather soften as I was wearing them and although they aren't mocassins, they sure felt like it. The insole is removable for extra width. I took it out just to see what that was like and it does provide a little extra width. Because I got them a little larger to take into account swelling when walking for an extended period, I won't need this, I think but we'll see. A nice feature to have anyway. The soles aren't too soft. The footbed, while conforming to my feet very nicely, isn't soft but is a bit firm. I'm a little concerned about this but they fit my feet so well that it may not be an issue. This shoe is very stable. I transfer my weight quickly back and aggressively through so for me, that's a good thing. Stability is key. I've taken up too much of your time already so to summarize, I got these, they fit great, are quality shoes and I'm keeping them. May even get a second pair. I'm going to walk in them for an extended time, hit some balls with them on, and see how it goes. If anything changes, I'll update my review. Fairways and greens! UPDATE: I took my new shoes to Bandon Dunes in Oregon for a week of golf. If you don't know, Bandon doesn't allow carts only walking. Over 5 days, I played 4 rounds on uneven terrain. My feet didn't hurt once. Not one time did I complain about my feet. This hasn't happened in a LONG time. I'm sold on these. The rest of my buddies can't say the same. For me, these shoes are worth every penny. Again, I've got seriously picky feet. My feet love these shoes. ... show more

  • Best Golf Shoes
Size: 9-9.5 Color: Magnet
I’ve been wanting a pair of ecco golf shoes for years and was excited to pick these up on sale for $130. Very glad I finally bit the bullet. These shoes are extraordinarily comfortable and have excellent support, both in the arch and in terms of grip/stability through the “spikes.” I was pleasantly surprised how much traction you get on grass. I love the leather detailing and the internal mesh “sock,” which makes the shoe very easy to put on. I’m curious how durable these will be but I expect to easily get a couple years out of these given that I can only play 6mo of the year. I love how well-ventilated these shoes are, but I do wonder how that will impact waterproofing. On sizing, consider ordering two pairs to find the right fit. I’m typically a 43 or 44 in ecco. I went with a 43 because I think the leather will stretch over time, but they are a little tight and I need to wear thinner socks. The 44s fit better but they were longer than other Ecco shoes and there was a ton of space in the toe box, which was awkward. Also, if they do stretch then they would be too big. ... show more

  • Best all around Golf shoe.
Ok. First off. I play 3 to 5 rounds a week. I walk most of the time. I have tried most of the shoes out there. Nike, Adidas, FJ, and more recently True. I've been wearing the Trues, but the grip, support and general comfort for walking 18 holes just was lacking. So I began searching for a shoe that I could walk in that would give me all around performance. I think I wore out Amazon's "try before you buy" feature. I had read about the ecco shoe but the price kept me away. After trying the new PUMA, Adidas, Nike and FJ, I finally gave in and ordered this shoe. Out of the box I was a little skeptical. I wear a size 13 in every other shoe. After carefully measuring my foot and using the size guide I ordered the size 12. It fit perfectly. So be aware these run one size large. I wore them around the house for a few hours and they felt pretty good. But the real test was out on the course. Obviously, a tremendous amount of time, energy and design has gone into this shoe. Excellent support. Excellent traction. Excellent comfort. Walking 18 in these was a joy. It's taking me a minute to get used to the style, but the comfort and performance is unequaled. This is the best all around golf shoe on the market. If you're a serious stick and you're looking for a shoe that exceeds expectations...you can stop looking. Expensive for sure...but worth every penny. ... show more

  • As close to perfect as you’re going to get
Size: 10-10.5 Color: Wild Dove/Sunrise
Excellent waterproof shoe and very comfortable. Pretty tight on the top of the foot which is not something I’ve ever experienced with other shoes but you do get used to it quickly. Just buy them already. If you’re ok with the money and you’ve been researching these already, just buy them. Very solid and superior traction. ... show more

  • Update after 5 rounds of golf
As other have said, they run large and the sizing is just wacky. I wear a size nine is most shoes and I would think a size 8 in EU would work fine. However, they come in 8-8.5. I feel mine are more like a 8.5 feel which would be a 9.5 US. That half size is large enough for my feet to not fit perfectly where my heel lifts. My heel lifts because my feet are narrow. If I size down further it would be way to small. I had to tie the shoes laces as tight as possible, but became uncomfortable where I had to loosen them up, but caused my heel to lift again. Others have noted they are already broken in and very comfortable. Well I find these the stiffest ECCO golf shoes I have ever worn. Then there is the bottom, after playing in a very dry course for one round and rising in a cart, the bottom has discolored already. How does blue soled shoes turn brownish green after one time use on the field? Update: after a few rounds, the shoes seemed to have broken in and feels less stiff. My heel still raises when I walk fast or in light jog to my ball. A couple adjustments and tying the shoes a couple times mid game seems to help. I have a great deal more traction on short wet grass than my previous Ecco biom and adidas hybrid golf shoes every had. I feel very stable and no longer worry about slipping after a driver/long iron shot. Second update: After a couple of more rounds of golf and playing in freezing temperatures. The shoes nearly met my expectations and justified the price. The traction is great and the comfort improved. My heal still lifts when walking fast. The shoes stretch a little more mid round and need to be tied again for adjustment. I wish I can give it a 4.5 star if I could. ... show more

  • Best golf shoe out there.
Size: 10-10.5 Color: Concrete/Baygreen
Top of the line. Ecco has always been a great shoe whether for golf or street. Keep an eye out for sales you may find these for 158.00 like I did. These shoes offer great support and comfort. I believe they helped my game

  • Not waterproof, uneven arch, support, poor sizing
Size: 8-8.5 Color: White
Firstly, the shoes are not as waterproof as they are advertised to be I wore them once in not rainy conditions, but wet (previous day rain) and water was, it felt like, leaking through the bottom of the shoes into my right shoe. Secondly, in the right shoe, the arch seems like it is extremely high, so I; wearing for extended periods of times (golfing) It is digging into my foot, meanwhile the left shoe is fine. Finally I had to order three different sizes to find the appropriate size. So sizing is all over the place. I’m a size 10 usually, and had to drop down to a size 8 while all my other shoes are size 10 and fit perfectly. I contacted customer service about these problems. They’re only solution was to send the shoes in and it will take up to six weeks to determine if there’s a quality defect in the shoe and in that time all you can get is ECCO credit. ... show more

  • It is less fun golfing with wet socks
Size: 10-10.5 Color: Pavement
I had high expectations for this shoe, which was purchased primarily for one reason, it is waterproof. The shoe looks great, fits well, seems durable, and as a walker on the course, I can add it is very comfortable. However, within six months of use I experienced soggy socks in what is supposed to be a waterproof shoe. If the shoe cost less than $80, then I might not care, but when one pays $200, then expectations increase, especially with the ECCO name behind it. I wish I could have written a positive review, but soggy socks on the golf course makes golf less fun. ... show more
