I am new to the tongue drum, but I am in love with it. The sounds that come from it are indeed very relaxing. I have been studying the effects of sound, specifically in the "magic" frequencies of 432, 444, 528 hz and how it affects physical and mental well-being. I'm not sure what frequency this tongue drum is but I'm willing to bet it's one of those frequencies. I can prove from my fitness tracker, that since I began playing the tongue drum my resting heart rate is lower and healthier and my stress level is down. Even tho I am a beginner/novice and don't know how to play any known songs, this instrument makes such a pleasing sound that anybody can make good sounding, original music with it. It's small size makes it great for carrying with you. This one, unfortunately, doesn't come with a carrying case but it's easy enough to fit in a gym bag for yoga, a purse for any outings, a picnic basket... Etc. it's extremely portable due to the small size. It's well constructed and seems very durable. It was in tune when I got it, and didn't need any adjustments. The bottom is open on this drum. My larger drum has a removable plug, this one does not. This drum is very, very basic as far as the number of notes that can be played and what comes with it. No carrying bag, no plug on the bottom, only 1 mallet instead of 2, and the song book has maybe half a dozen songs. You really don't need the extras with this drum because of its small size. For the money, this is a fantastic buy. It's a wonderful beginner instrument that's very compact and not annoying to listen to a newbie play. Best of all is the sound quality. I cannot express strongly enough how soothing the sounds are that come from this drum. I rate it 5 stars for quality, value, portability and ease of use. The media could not be loaded. Pros: -perfect for my 2 year old -sounds so lovely -easy to play Cons: -missing number 4 sticker I don’t want to go and return it since my toddler is already having so much fun with it but it is a bit annoying that the 4 is missing because with the song book to be able to be followed by a child I need all the stickers to be accurate. I saw this and said to myself, "why not?" I'm glad I ordered it. The sounds are a lot more pleasing than came through on the product videos. The notes are a pentatonic scale with the root in octaves (marked "1" and "i") so it's nearly impossible to play something that sounds wrong, no matter which notes or which sequence is played. It's not really well suited for camping, concert, yoga, meditation, healing, or anything else mentioned in the product description, but taking a few minutes to pause and play is a good opportunity to pause and relax, and take one's mind off of cares. Is that meditation? Maybe, but you don't have to sit in a lotus position and chant to get the full effect... I like the moss blue color the best; it looks very chill sitting on my dresser. The little tiny mallet is perfect for transcending strong emotions; it's impossible to hit anything with a lot of force, and small focused movements are calming, I think. At least they are for me. The included "songbook" is essentially inscrutable; nobody ever heard of the songs and there's no guide for understanding the notation, but that's no great loss, because playing random notes and trying to make something that sounds like music is still the most fun.     • A Musical Instrument That Can Instantly Add A Calm And Peaceful Aspect To Your Personal Space

Eavnbaek Steel Tongue Drum is a wonderful musical instrument that when played instantly adds a calm and peaceful aspect to your personal space. The green colored drum that I received is darker than the product photos show and even prettier in person. I loved the darker color. It was comfortable in my hand, is well made, and has six distinct notes. Two of the notes have a noticeably softer sound than the other four notes. I use the drum when I meditate and also when I experience anxiety as the sounds bring forth an immediate calm. The notes sound angelic to me. It is the ideal size to take it with me on the go. The order includes the drum, a drumstick, and a mini brochure with six songs. The manufacturer noted that the drum could also be played with your fingers but I didn't find success in my multiple attempts even when using just my fingernails. I wish that the set included a bag to hold it in when travelling. Hopefully the manufacturer will consider including this in future orders. It is Made in China. This is a wonderful musical instrument that can be enjoyed by everyone from young children to adults. This is also a fantastic introduction to the steel tongue drum. ... show more

This is a very small tongue drum can fit in the palm of your hand, but the tone is absolutely angelic. The secret to getting a good sound is to only touch the rubber part at the bottom. Do not let your hand touch the metal then you get plenty of volume. Works great if you set it on a table or other hard surface as well . It’s addictive people were passing around at a party and taking turns playing it very easy to learn. ... show more
