My previous review: The first one of these I bought gave inaccurate readings. I didn't know it at first, because I never re-tested each time. When I did, the readings were wildly different. As much as 100 points. Stupid me, I bought another of this same brand. Same thing. So I re-test like 3 times and take the average. I'm now looking for a new meter. Will read all the reviews first. The reason I purchased this was the low price. When I purchased my old extremely accurate meter, my insurance charged me OUTRAGEOUS prices for the test strips. So I came to Amazon. I know I'll find something nice and accurate from Amazon. New Review: I bought a control solution package. Turns out the machine is perfect. My blood must be screwy. Oh well. In the meantime, I had purchased another meter and got the same screwy results. ... show more

I purchased this monitor recently as my others are getting older and I have to question the accuracy. I really like the simplicity of this monitor and it doesn't require much blood at all to get a reading.     • Wildly Innacurate
I bought this meter because I could no longer find test strips for the one I own, and this had decent reviews. The product arrived on time, and was well packaged. No issues with delivery. When I first used the meter and strips, I suspected right away that it was not accurate. I log my blood glucose readings every day, and have for years, and this reading was outside the normal range for me. The next few days seemed high also. On the 4th day, I got a reading that was 40mm higher than normal, and I knew this was wrong. I was in a fasted state, had high ketones, and should have had a much lower reading. I drove to my brothers house, tested again using his meter and strips, and got a result that was perfectly within my normal range. There are no instructions with this meter that show how to calibrate it using a control solution, so I'm assuming this one is just a throw away, and I'll not buy from this company again. Anyone need 2 useless vials of test strips, lol? ... show more

Easy to use, and found it to be fairly accurate. Definitely a good tool for helping to keep blood sugars under control.
