I was looking for a curved soprano saxophone because I play the alto tenor and Bari So it was the next step to get a soprano, but I wanted something a little bit different. When I first got it, it wouldn’t play so I was gonna get Reeds anyway, but I was just waiting because the Kessler and sons near me wasn’t open the day. It arrived when I got my reeds It still didn’t play. I went down a rabbit hole. I’m trying to figure out why after all when you spend $400 on a Sopranos saxophone that you’ve never played you want it to work at least a little bit. When I had my private lesson with my teacher, he was able to bend one of the side keys that was letting out too much air If you don’t have somebody that can look at your saxophone then you might not want this one. I was extremely frustrated for a while, but as soon as my teacher fixed it, it sounded amazing! It felt like I was playing on a Yamaha like it was smooth. It’s also very pretty appearance wise If I was on stage performing with it, I would be happy to perform with it It’s definitely suitable for beginners, although I’ve been playing for close to six years If you’re just starting to learn saxophone, it’s really easy to learn on this saxophone in specific It’s very durable my sister knocked it over at a family reunion and broke the ligerature (not sure if I spelled it right) But the saxophone was absolutely fine I just bought a new literature Overall, it’s pretty good, but if you’re wanting a saxophone that you don’t have to fix then maybe this one isn’t for you. I was so happy with the sound that I bought a tenor saxophone from Eastrock And Trumpet mouthpieces I would definitely suggest getting your saxophone in person if possible or from a more commonly known shop, but this saxophone is pretty dang good! ... show more

I was a solid sturdy saxophone. Felt great. I wasn’t ready for practice it would take to get my tone right. So I sent it back to get the tenor I have always played.

I needed this sax to retake my training. I am all rusted and "desafinado". any note out of pitch is not the Sax's fault. I just wanted to show how well calibrated it seems to be. all notes easy to play.

Seemed fine but had a broken solder point. I would have been fine exchanging it for a new one but return and reorder would have cost me an extra $68 dollars!

Great Travel Sax

The first thing you're going to do when you unbox this adorable sop is throw the entire mouthpiece assembly directly into the dumpster along with any hope of using this horn in the recording studio. Next get yourself a real mouthpiece and reed (my reed came cracked but I wasn't going to use it anyway) and some real expectations of what this instrument is actually capable of (unless you just bought this sax as a trophy to display in your room because it's so darn cute). I bought this soprano to have a small and portable sax to take on camping trips and practice when I travel, which it does very well (with the exception of some intonation issues and an annoying sticky G# key). TL;DR: Mouthpiece and reed upgrades are essential. G# key sticks and the intonation is not perfect but it's worth the buy for a tiny travel sax. ... show more
