  • wonderful horn,great sound
Color: Curved-Blue
have just received this horn looks and plays great, just getting back into playing after over 30 years

  • Better than expected
Color: Straight-Gold
I'm happy with this purchase. The sax arrived intact and undamaged. All of the keys work properly, and I'm able to get a good tone from low to high notes. It’s worth noting that I also purchased a Yamaha 4C mouthpiece and Rico 2.5 reeds to go with it, as I’ve heard that the mouthpiece and reed are often weak points on inexpensive horns. Although I’m new to the saxophone, I’m not new to wind instruments and I was ready for a challenge. I wasn’t expecting much at this price point, but the way it sounds, feels, and looks exceeded my expectations. Even the case is surprisingly nice. For the value that this represents, and not having to spend thousands for a horn to learn on, I give this soprano sax a 5 out of 5. Although how well it holds up over time remains to be seen, this ticket to sax-town was worth the price of admission. ... show more

  • Ok for the price
Color: Curved-Black
I have not used this sax much but the quality is not quite there. I will need to adjust some of the keys but I will be looking for a little better model

  • It looks great! Price is unbelievable!
I am a professionell Saxophone player and it is my secondary soprano instrument for the street. It is okay. With another mouthpiece it sounds good. The price is unbelievable! The intonation is quite correct. A little bit too low so I sawed one of the S-neck a little bit. So for some issues you have to be a good handyman. I bought the black one - it looks great! The audience love it! Not really great for a beginner to saxophone. The case is good. With shoulder straps! I played it now over month under hard conditions like heat and sun and it works pretty good. ... show more

  • Great product!
The sound was good the case is awesome. This was a great buy for me as I had donated my previous one. Of course I put on it a Yanagisawa Metal mouthpiece and did minor tweaks. As someone that has played 33 years it is a product I would gladly buy again!

  • Subpar, frustrating
Color: Straight-Gold
It looks like a soprano sax. It plays… sort of. First thing I noticed was the incredibly wide spacing between the right hand, ring finger and pinky finger keys, particularly the lower C key. The stretch is way too far especially if a kid is trying to play it. Overall, the craftsmanship is OK, sometimes questionable. There are quite a few sharp edges in sort of random places. The pads are dark brown and seemingly spongy. The particular saxophone I got had some pretty tremendous pads sealing issues, which is a bummer, considering how deeply imprinted the tone holes are into the pads. It’s also a bummer because the tone and intonation are pretty good for the price. At least on the particular one I received. Key tensions are also a bit of an issue. The right hand pinky E flat is almost impossible to press down while the C key right below it barely stays open. There are also some regulation issues across the instrument contributing to its playing difficulty. Probably the most frustrating thing is that the joint where the neck fits into the instrument is lacquered, making it nearly impossible to insert the neck into the instrument properly. To get an honest attempt out of the instrument, I had to sand down a pretty significant amount from one of the necks. As is normally stated with these sort of horns, the mouthpiece and reed are basically unusable. The ligature was also equipped with some pretty radical sharp edges on the inside. The case also presented some significant problems. The space where the body of the instrument is stored, is an oversized general saxophone shape that puts some gnarly pressure on some of the keys and doesn’t hold the body really well at all. Just a nitpicky thing, when you look into the bell of the instrument, you can see the seam where the flat piece of metal was welded together to create the tube that makes the body. When I played it, the left hand notes had a significant stuffiness, particularly second finger C, and the one and one B-flat. This was not the case when I used the right hand side keys for B-flat and C. This again is where it got really frustrating because with the side key, those notes felt and sounded really nice. Overall, pretty disappointed. Would probably be better off going with a different one, or just save your money and check out some thing like a Kessler or a used one. ... show more

  • Great value, incredible sound for the price
Color: Curved-Blue
I've play saxophone for over 30 years and have a professional selmer but wanted something to gig around and not worry about getting dinged. This by far surpassed my expectations. It's not perfect, the neck doesn't tighten into place and I added a third party thumb rest thats more comfortable, but the sound and intonation are actually very good. ... show more

  • Mine does not tune.
Color: Straight-Gold
I have tried to tune this sax and I am unable to. May be is inexperience but I have tuned my tenor and alto this one is impossible and yes I have set my tuner to Bb. Will keep trying if unable will have to return it. Update: I picked up the instrument again used cork grease and placed the mouthpiece. After a 15 minute session out of tune decided to quit trying. When removed the mouthpiece the cork was broken. Contacted the seller who said they will give me a $10 gift card to get it replaced. Purchasing the cork costed $10 now imagine how much will a professional charge to replace it. They claim. 1 year warranty. Do not believe them, bad company bad product, worst customer service. They think this is China where labor cost is a few cents an hour. ... show more
