Description

Patented 3-dimensional composite rope is wrapped 360 degrees, vertically, around the center of the barrel at the sweet spot. This maximizes performance outside of the sweet spot, creating the widest max performance area across the entire barrel. Utilizes an elastomer connector to interlock the handle to the barrel, eliminating vibration for optimal feel Driven by ongoing research and feedback from some of the game’s best players, each bat size’s handle flex is specifically engineered to the elite travel ball athlete. A newly designed soft knob with an asymmetric contour combined with Flow+Tack grip delivers optimal comfort and barrel control.

The Hype Fire was purchased as a gift for my little league nephew. That said it didn’t stop me from taking a few rips of BP. The color options are noticeable. The color pops. The kids love the flair. The smooth grip and lightweight definitely lead to increase bat speed. The sweet spot is noticeably larger as well, so less stingers. I was always taught stingers made you a better batter, but that’s open for debate. When you make contact, the ball pops. With the increased bat speed and larger sweet spot, I can 100% see a kid hitting more dingers. The price is high, no doubt about that, but if it turns into increased on field performance then the cost justifies the results. Of your kid is serious on the little league circuit, then the Hype Fire is justified. Overall, the quality of the bat is second to none. Per the cost, I believe this is the best on the market, so it’s priced as such. And if you want the best, expect to pay for that. I would recommend. ... show more

    • Very Good USA Bat With Premium Price
Bat drop ratio: -10.0 Item length numeric: 30.0 Inches
This is a very nice USA baseball bat. While it brings the styling and overall features of the infamous -5 USSSA Hype Fire that has tons of pop, you shouldn't expect that level of performance from this USA certified bat, which is to be expected. When compared to other USA certified bats, this is one of a handful of the best options on the market. It has good pop, for a USA bat, which is intentionally limited for play in leagues such as Little League, Pony League, etc. The barrel size is about as big as you'll find on a USA certified bat. In addition to being the maximum diameter allowed, the length of the barrel portion of the bat is very big - bigger than most USA bats. From just an eyeball test, the other bat that stands out that has a similarly large barrel is the Rawlings Icon. From a value perspective, while this is a very good USA bat, the $350 price point for a USA bat is steep. Given that USA bats are limited on performance, the performance increase that you'll get from this bat is pretty limited, which calls into question whether it is worth spending $350 on a bat for a player that is playing in a USA certification required league. Typically, the leagues that require USA bats are on the recreational side of things and not the top level of competition, so it probably doesn't make a lot of sense for most families to spend big bucks on a bat like this. That said, if you don't mind paying the premium price, this is a very good bat. However, you can probably find last year's model for a discount and the actual performance won't be any different. ... show more

    • All fire, no hype
Bat drop ratio: -10.0 Item length numeric: 30.0 Inches
This is the bat to have if you are a 10 year old boy playing little league. My son was ecstatic. Like, christmas morning hopping around ecstatic, to receive this. He is convinced that he is now a better batter and that balls are going further. He has done a couple of practices since we got this, gotten in some cage time, and will play his first game with it later today. According to him, when you hit the barrel the ball just flies, you hear the pop, and the ball just flies. When you miss the barrel, he says there is no sting, no vibration, and no pain. Just a different noise. No sting is probably a good thing, although I wonder if the pain of a sting makes a kid a better batter (no need to learn if bad contact just means a foul rather than foul plus pain). All in all we are very happy with this bat. Cool factor aside (and that is a huge part of it), it is just a good quality bat. ... show more
