  • Great Deal
Great sounding and playing guitar. I was able to get the action incredibly low for an acoustic. Props to AcousticBay for the setup/inspection they perform. The guitar arrived flawless but smelling of finish. The case is very good and should hold up well unless you fly with it a lot. This thing sounds amazing. Sustain is excellent, the frets are dressed well, and the tuners hold tune well enough. Being solid wood, it will respond to changes in humidity, so be mindful of where and how you store it. ... show more

  • Id rather play then switch
this is my go to acoustic.. Put ghs silk and steel strings on it, and WOW. Loud enough, but also mellow. Have had it for over a year now and this is still the one I reach for. Have 4 Martin acoustics. The Martin HD28 is a great guitar, but frankly I prefer this one. I also have an E20D (for direct comparison to the HD28)...If I had to sell one and keep one; would keep the Eastman. These guitars are an EXCELLENT value. The build quality and tone are different from Martin, maybe not quite so 'refeened', but at about 1/3 the cost the choice is pretty clear(at least for a frugal sort like me:). Now maybe Eastman does not have the 'street cred' of a Martin, but if you just want a really GOOD guitar at a good price, go with the Eastman. If you are REALLY fussy go someplace and do an A/B comparison for tone and build quality before you buy..... ... show more

  • Nothing touches it at this price
Beautifully built and finished (mine is a sunburst) and the sound is magnificent. Sustain is amazing as is the intonation. I have done a little work on the nut and a truss rod adjustment to lower the action a little, but it was a player right out of the case. I have more expensive guitars and play different guitars on different songs for different sounds, but this one stands tall among them. If I had to find a fault, it would be that it weighs a little more that I would like, which is no doubt due to it's strong construction, but that's the only negative. A friend offered me his HD28 at a real bargain price while I was looking at the Eastman, but I chose this instead. I couldn't find anything that compares at anywhere near this price. ... show more

  • One of the very best!
This guitar sings with great overtones, sustain, and volume! The luthiers at Eastman do everything the old-fashioned way. There are no CNC machines; everything is done by hand! It's a boutique guitar shop because they just don't have the technology available to them. Great news for us! Try one with a truly open mind. The one I bought outplayed a Martin D-18 so obviously, my wife felt it strongly! At $1100, I believe you would be foolish not to at least give it a chance. I've played for over 40 years and owned many great instruments. This one easily stands as one of the very best. ... show more

  • My favorite guitar
It's the best sounding acoustic I've ever played. Mine was stolen and I think I'm just going to buy another identical... or maybe the cut away version. It's a really loud guitar.

  • Fantastic Guitar
This is a fine instrument. Hand built with superb craftsmanship. Nice Adirondack top hog sides. The bracing is beautiful and light . Great shaped neck Has a great big growl when you want it and blows my socks off every time i take it out of the case. I dont ever see letting this guitar go . It will be my sons when Im gone. Plenty of technical reviews out there. This guitar is a gem. Eastman E10d is an excellent guitar period. ... show more
