    • Not what I hoped for
I wanted to use this as an alternate horn for travel practicing, but it is fraught with enough issues to interfere even with that simple goal. I am already an additional $100 in hole for adjustments needed. One issue is the neck. For one thing, it seems to be too overly long. This creates tuning issues. Some of my mouthpieces do not work with the horn because they have to be placed too far down on the cork to play in tune. The neck also is poorly fitted to the body, allowing the neck to slightly toggle and easily swivel during play. This may also be creating leakage. The horn also has too much of a brash, honking tonality, especially in the lower register. This is partially due to needing to push more air for the lower notes due to the horn's tendency to leak. On the positive side, the horn looks good and in some instances sounds okay, but that hardly compensates for the many issues it has. ... show more

I’m LOVING my new little sax! I bought a Yamaha 4C mouthpiece to make it more playable and a little softer reed than my alto sax. I like the D’addario for real reeds and Légère for a GREAT synthetic!
