Description
The EarlyGrow 95457 heavy duty oversized herb and seed propagator is designed for use in the germination of seeds protection of young seedlings in an environment which optimizes conditions for germination and growth. The vented lid and height extensions allow for control of humidity during germination and when closed can preserve moisture and heat improving results. The clear dome will not reduce the effectiveness of grow lights nor degrade under UV light. The lid and height extension can be used outdoors for direct sewn seeds during the early and late season protecting the seeds and young seedlings from cold or inclement weather. It is easy to add additional height extensions to permit plants to mature both indoor or outdoors in a sheltered environment. The height extensions can be easily assembled and disassembled using the provided hardware for compact storage when not in use. Non toxic, the 95457 is a friend to organic gardeners. This set includes 12 security clips, which lock the sides to the lid, allowing the user to lift off the top all in one piece. The clips make the propagator much more stable to move around.

Since I have never had a problem germinating seeds without a propagator, I don't use this unit for starting seedlings. My primary use is to root and start cuttings. In the past, I have used a couple of much smaller propagators I have and covered cuttings with plastic bags to maintain humidity. The small propagators have been fine for 4-6 cuttings that were small, but didn't work for taller cuttings. The plastic bags helped, but most often the cutting lost a lot of leaves before they rooted. For all, I do use a powder rooting hormone that very much helps faster root development. I might also mention that I have been growing and propagating a variety of plants for over 50 years. This propagator is particularly helpful in rooting cuttings from woody stemmed plants. These types of cuttings can be difficult to root since they can take 8 weeks or longer to develop roots. It is essential to keep the humidity high to help the cutting maintain the leaves until it can grow enough roots to support them and to initiate new growth. This propagator maintains a humid environment while allowing circulation of fresh air through the vents. I bought the 3-tier unit that allows for taller cuttings and for more growth before removing cuttings from the propagator. I very much like that I can add tiers if needed, and the vents in each tier can be adjusted to allow more air flow or to maintain the humidity level. I also like the tiers can be disassembled for storage. Since using this propagator, none of my cuttings have wilted before rooting, and all have rooted with 100% success. What I like about this propagator is: - The base is very thick and sturdy. It doesn't bend when fully loaded. - You can use 1, 2, or 3 tiers depending on the size of cuttings and expand for growth. - Although the screws to hold the tiers together are plastic, they work well and can be finger tightened to seal the sides together. - The adjustable vents can help to retain more humidity or adjust for more air flow as cuttings develop. - The supplied clips hold the tiers together so multiple tiers can be lifted at one time. - Prevents leaf loss of cuttings due to dehydration before roots develop. - Clear dome allows light to pass through and unit can be kept under a plant light. I use this propagator when I have a large number of cuttings, and have been completely satisfied with the versatility of this unit. It is so much easier and faster to start new herb plants from cutting than from seed. So far, I have had 100% success in propagating cuttings for green sage, pineapple sage, common thyme, lemon thyme, marjoram, a few varieties of basil, outdoor bushes, and more. I am totally happy with this propagator and would recommend it. I hope this review was helpful for you. I will update this review if my opinion changes.

Very solid thick plastic chamber structure with multiple vents and is made in lego block fashion so everything snap together easy and you can add sections to the Chamber to make as short or all as you want. You can also buy height extensions separately in the future if you need more height. Most heating mats for seedlings can fit with no problem and the clear plastic structure allows full spectrum grow light's in and the plastic is always clear and not affect like turning yellow or hazy from UV or other lights. Pros- 1. Build quality and toughness 2.Multiple vents 3. Option to add height section's/extender's 4. soild thick base/bottom tray with veins for water flow molded into the plasitc. 5. Allows grow lites and has UV light protection Cons- 1.Very teadus to assemble the height extension's using the provided plastic screws, nuts, and molded screwdriver 2. do way to hang a light on the inside of the top roof section 3. No way to run any type of power cord to the inside of the chamber as it has no rubber flap port anywhere the push plugs though unless you leave the top open. 4. Need more sizes to choose from.

So much larger than i had expected it to be but wow is it amazing! My orange melanos weren’t doing as well without the added humidity and this really helped! The vents are good for airflow and it’s the proper size to add a heat mat if necessary.

A bit pricey, but definitely worth the money! The propagator dome and the bottom tray are made out of really sturdy plastic (i.e. I’d have to drop this pretty hard to make a crack). It’s excellent at trapping humidity with two sliding vents on each side extenders for airflow, while not hindering light sources from entering. There’s plenty of room inside for a plethora of plants, allowing two 16 XL seed starting trays and a 10 x 20” heating mat on the tray floor (you’d have to get creative with this because there’s no means of running cables in and out of the propagator). My seedlings growth boomed because of this! I opted for the three tier that comes with the locking clips set. The reviewers who advised using binder clips instead of the ones that come with this dome were absolutely right. Dollar store binder clips secures the tray and extenders a lot better compared to these ones that hardly clamp down, and easily pops them off at the slightest nudge. All in all - a cool product!

I needed a grow container with lots of vertical room for plants that were growing too tall. This fits the bill. Everything is solid and easy to put together. You have to make sure the parts all have the lips on the same side which was easily corrected when I mixed it up. This is solid and big and looks like it will last a long time unlike the much cheaper and smaller propagation chambers. Shipping was very quick and got through customs to Canada perfectly. The extra $10 to cover customs brokerage was really worth it (even regular post charges $5 for customs brokerage). The large number of adjustable vents is nice too. Summary: for those tall plants that won't grow in the 7-8" tall propagators. Built to last. Looks good too. A bit pricey but will likely last longer and save money in the long run

The "domed propagator" is like a mini-greenhouse. It came with almost no instructions, but then it didn't really need any. The side extenders assembled easily. I am using it to attempt to root cuttings from an unusually hardy macadamia tree that I grew from seed. The tree survived a 23 degrees Fahrenheit freeze that killed other macadamia trees to the ground.
