  • Makes floor cleaning easier
The WashG1 has been a really good cleaner to have around. It feels simple to use, has solid suction, and does a nice job picking up dust and everyday messes on hard floors. I like that it is cordless, and even with the battery life it has been easy to keep up with regular floor cleaning without dragging out a bunch of extra stuff. The matte black and blue look is nice too. Overall it feels well built, easy to handle, and worth it for making cleanup quicker. ... show more

  • Glitchy - there are much better options
I have always thought Dyson was the original of the best machines for floor cleaning, but I learned that this machine is actually a pale copy of Tineco machines that have been doing wet/dry vacuum/steam/mopping for a much longer time. Dyson came to the game late, and is much less experienced in the wet/dry mop arena. I did a side-by-side comparison with the Tineco Floor One 7 Pro, which retails lower but is about the same class (with the exception being that the Tineco has suction and does edges and a much better job overall, and is easier to clean and dismantle with a much more elegant design) If you've never used a wet floor vac before, you'll like this Dyson. But I've had everything from the early Hoover FloorMates to the Bissells (the robot one, the corded, and the cordless plus the steam one) and even a Shark steam mop. For the price, this Dyson is way off in performance. Mine came with a leaky clean water tank and I though it had an air valve so it wouldn't create a vacuum or some sort of engineering necessity, but it's a hassle because when I fill it and set it down before putting it back on the assembly it leaves a puddle. The water tanks, both clean and dirty, have to be un-clicked as a tower unit, then unclicked individually, and then unscrewed individually as well. It's a lot ... and within this whole mechanisms are sensors to tell you whether the tanks are full or empty, and they rarely get it right (more on that, and some workarounds for it later) If you buy this machine, expect the following: It is good for washing smooth floors, and functioned well for the first two months I had it with a few glitches. You need workarounds for when the sensor tells you the tank is empty when it's not, or the dirty water tank is full when it's empty (you'll need a straw and the ability to blow hard through it to fool the sensor into thinking it's dry) The machine won't go until you fool the sensor into realizing it's wrong. These are minor problems and the machine generally works well. There is no suction, and only one side is billed as being good at edges, and it's just inertia spinning the dirty water up into the machine, so if you have any unevenness in your floors there will be wet patches. It's a clumsy affair to disassemble and clean; you really can't do it while it's on its dock because the weight of the machine compresses the part you're trying to slide out so it has to lie on its side to really get the catch tray and rollers out, which is awkward. The machine itself is lightweight, quiet, and if it had the promised warranty and was easier to disassemble for cleaning and didn't have such glitchy sensors, I would say it's a good value for the money because your floors will be cleaner since you USE IT and it's easy. Currently it's a bit of a hassle with the leaks and misfiring sensors so I am more hesitant to reach for it than I wish. I just wish Dyson customer service was 1/10th as good as its products. Two stars for the machine, once you've tried a Tineco, 0 for the company. Dyson will not honor the warranty unless you purchase direct from Dyson, so buyer beware. ... show more

  • Showstopper
So far, I freaking love this thing. I have had a few wet vac/floor scrubbers over the years, and when the last one died a few years back, I have relied on my steam mop and Swiffer's. But I have two elderly dogs and recently accidents have become more prevalent, and the steam mop wasn't cutting it. I have other Dyson products and love them, so I decided to invest in this wet vac. The first time I used it, it actually produced a lot if foam, probably because of how much cleaning product I have sprayed on my tile and not gotten entirely up. But after that, I have used it with just water and my floors are super clean, and no longer slightly tacky. I clean up any gross messes with cleanser and paper towels, then use the Dyson on all my hard floors. They feel cleaner than they have in a long time. The instructions say you can use cleansers, but that usually makes my tile feel sticky and I hate that. Clean water seems to be doing a great job, after I have spot cleaned any nasty spots. I might try adding a little white vinegar if there have been some doggy messes that seem to warrant more aggressive cleaning. But I want less chemicals in my life wherever possible. This vac is easy to use. It is self-propelled when on, but somewhat heavy when not. I don't think it would work well on stairs either, though I haven't tried. It also has a self-cleaning function which is amazing. So, so far 10/10. I have only had it for a few weeks and already love it. ... show more

  • Not always “New”
I can’t remember how I cleaned up puppy piddle before. This is so easy to use and really seems to do a good job on my premium laminate (I’ve tried UV light on the area after it’s been cleaned.). Easy to maneuver. Easy to adjust water spray. It seems like you are always emptying the dirty water tank. And it smells like a sewer. You have to use the self clean feature after each tank or the line will clog. Do your regular vacuuming first, this does not vacuum solids well. And cleaning out the tray is a messing nuisance. But I will always have two Dyson Wash G1’s, one for upstairs and one for downstairs Now the real problem I’ve purchased one in August 2025 on the Amazon website as “new”. Come November, it had a clog and needed a warranty repair. I contacted Dyson. They looked up the serial number and found that it had originally been sold in November 2024. My machine was not new. It may not even have been refurbished, but it was past the return period on Amazon. The seller refused to respond to me. Dyson does not honor warranties by unauthorized dealers. So I am stuck with this machine. I’ve tried the Amazon A-to-Z warranty twice, and both times been told that I received the item and it was as described so no refund from Amazon. Personally I don’t think something sold as new matches the description of used/ refurbished. But I guess that’s just me. Be sure to buy it directly from Dyson if you want a warranty and wait for a sale, they take $200 off and give you two free rollers. ... show more

  • Super clean job on laminate flooring
I installed laminate floors throughout the house, and found out my steamer couldn't be used on those. So, for a time, I made do with a Swiffer and the usual burdensome spot-scrubbing. I saw this machine on Dyson's site and decided to give it a try. I thought my floors were clean, but the container full of dirty water and the catch-tray proved me wrong. I did not find it heavy- when it's running, it propels itself so that seems a non-issue.One side is marked for edgecleaning, and it really does clean right up to the edge. And the quality seems consistent with all the other Dyson tech I've owned- vacs, hair dryer, air purifiers and heaters. Noting the reviews here with concerns about build, I registered it, and it has a 2-year warranty. Only one Dyson product has given me an issue, and they sent out a newer model as a replacement- even though the display was the only problem. Bottom line: it does a fine job on the floors with clear water, and leaves them much cleaner than the pad-cleaners. ... show more

  • Not Worth the $$$$
Pros: . Very smooth +easy to push . Easy to fill tanks . 3 levels of wetness for stains+stuck on debris Cons: . Didn't clean the edges . Great for households with no pets or kids that are spotless . Doesnt clean dried pet throw up from during the night . Very time consuming to: . self clean the machine . wash out the rollers . pull out the debris tray+ empty . pull out the debris tray filter+ empty . dry the rollers so they don't mildew and stink If you just run a self clean like most other mop/vacs need, you will end up with maggots from the debris collected in the tray. ... show more

  • Floor washing game changer!
Gets my wooden floors very clean without leaving a lot of water behind. Sucks up the dirty water instead of just spreading it around like some mops. East set and clean up. Life saver for my body especially knees and shoulders during floor washing. Is very well made and feels solid, but not too heavy. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY DYSON WASH G1!
This is by far the WORST product sold by Dyson and the worst floor cleaner I have ever owned. 20 minutes to clean the cleaner to get maybe 5 minutes of the machine sloshing dirty water around on the floor. Self clean is a joke. I have to mop after using the machine. Stopped using it. Called Dyson, spent 15 minutes to be told the are sorry, they understand but would do nothing to make it right. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE AND BE CAUTIOUS WITH DYSON PRODUCTS, THEY ARE CLEARING NOT THE DYSON WE KNEW YEARS AGO. ... show more
