The Dymo 5XL only works with authentic Dymo labels that have an RFID chip. When these labels arrived, the packaging wasn’t as fancy as I expected, so I worried they might not be authentic or might be older stock without an RFID chip. I decided to check for myself, so I actually unrolled and re-rolled an entire roll. I wouldn’t recommend this as it’s very time consuming. Sure enough there was an RFID chip underneath at the end of the roll. Also, the Dymo Connect desktop app recognized the label roll as authentic. I’m not a big fan of the RFID tagging, but the price on 5 rolls of these authentic labels wasn’t so bad. Note: I had trouble getting the labels to feed in the Dymo at first. It helped to peel off the first label, leaving behind just the backing paper. Try this if you have trouble getting the first label to feed through. ... show more
