  • Outstanding tire
Size: 120/70ZR17 58W
I have been using Roadsmart 3's for a few years now. They are an outstanding tire as far as grip and wear go. One of the best features is the grip remains the same until you get to the wear bars. They do not have quite as much "Feel" as some other tires, but they are like a steel frame roller coaster. Smooth and completely predictable once you get used to the tire's vibe. I have done many track days on them and the performance was beyond expectations. I ran a set of Roadsmart 4's and did not notice enough difference in the mileage/performance to justify the price differential. I will continue to use these until they stop producing them. ... show more

  • Excellent price and prompt delivery.
Size: 120/70ZR17 58W
Installed on a 2008 Yamaha FZ-1 replacing first gen Roadsmarts. Difficult to compare the two sets because the replaced tires were down to the wear bars and were getting old. Initially I thought turn-in had become slightly more abrupt but after getting 150 miles or so on them, trying to scrub them in gradually, that difference is gone. It could be just that I've gotten used to them but turn-in now seems very linear. Out right grip in curves is excellent! Very stable under braking and acceleration. Ride is great, very stable tires, they seem totally unruffled by tar snakes, even in curves. The originals were excellent in wet weather, but have not tried these in the rain yet. The Gen 4 has been out a while now and because of that great deals can be found on the 3s. You'll save about $200 on the pair. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Excellent Sport Tourer!
Size: 180/55ZR17 73W
I had a set of the Roadsmart 2’s on a previous VFR750 and loved how they wore and the grip, so when I got a newer VFR800, I chose the Roadsmart 3’s. I’ve had them on the bike for a year now, and have put approximately 3000 miles on them mostly commuting to work and riding the Blue Ridge Parkway. Excellent grip both wet and dry, great wear, predictable lean and grip. On a 500+ lbs 110hp bike with VTEC it’s great to know the grip will be there when you’re winding it out! ... show more

  • Dunlop Roadsmart 3 experience
Size: 180/55ZR17 73W
Tire has proven to me to be reliable, well priced, and reasonably long lasting at about 6000 miles avg life before wear bars on my FJR. Don't do much wet riding but dry grip is predictable and confidence building in the twisties, ymmv.

Great Tire for grip and ride comfort from Dunlop

  • Very good value
Size: 120/70ZR17 58W
My third set on a Concous 1400. Good grip for canyon riding (get them warmed up) and a very stable tire for touring. Average 13K on the previous sets. Have not tried the next version as these run so well and the price has come down. * This is an edit/add as of 10/2/23. Recently changed rides from the C14 to a Ninja 1000SX which come with the Bridgestone S22, where the front tire is toast after 3600+ miles. The S22 is a good feeling tire, don't get me wrong. And, therefore, thought of just replacing the front as the back may have another 3-4K miles left. After considering having to replace them both after another 3K miles, I decided to go with the Roadsmart III. I was hesitant to use these on the Ninja thinking they would not be as responsive on the lighter bike. This may be a bit early, but after getting them scrubbed in now after a couple hundred miles, I have no regrets in making the switch on this machine. Canyon, highway and slow speed are secure in grip and feel. Again, early review with this machine, but I have the same confidence in the tire on this machine as I was accustomed to with the previous sets used on the Concours 14. Safe travels! ... show more

  • Liked them well enough to buy a 2nd time, details below
Size: 180/55ZR17 73W
All motorcycle tires are a compromise of some kind; very high traction tires are typically softer rubber which wear out faster. High mileage tires can be hard rubber and/or tread patterns that just don't grip as well. In consideration of price/longevity/performance the Roadsmart 3 impressed enough that I bought them again. They balanced well, they looked fine, they preformed fine and were competitively priced. My first set had 8200 miles on them when changed and although they seemed like they could have gone another 2000 miles I replaced them in advance of a huge road trip just to be extra safe. Even though I was very picky about maintaining tire pressure I felt the tire did a good job of holding up especially considering they were on a heavy 1000 CC sport-touring bike. Recommend for distance sport-touring. ... show more

  • Exceptional value for the price!
Size: 120/70ZR17 58W
I have been reading about that tire several articles and reviews. I wanted to find a cheaper alternative for my C14 instead of MPR 4 GT. (wich raised the bar high) 5 GT is ridiculously expensive! Went for a 1000 mile+ road trip right after I changed my worn out front tire. These are just as good as Michelin's. I have ridden only In a dry condition but road gripping, rolling sound is lived up to my expectation. If i get better lifespan out of it it's definitely a better slipper than my loved MPR 4 GT-s I'll buy a rear one soon. ... show more
