The media could not be loaded. They're beautiful & lush. Those that need to be slightly firm are & those that need to be like a feather are. But the hairs are super soft on all. You can't ask for a more professional brush set even from the professionals. The difference would be in price. I haven't experienced any shedding at all. Stop looking & comparing. The brushes, delivered today, themselves are like velvet. Super lux! However, one of the selling points for me was the wooden handles. I received the newer set (according to the description) and these handles are most definitely plastic - which is the reason for the 4 stars.
