I failed to notice the lack of collar buttons until it arrived but the way the collar lies is great. The shirt is definitely better quality than I was afraid it would be and seems true to size and doesn't seem to have shrunk for me. Very comfortable and looks nice. I have only worn it once, untucked and sleeves rolled halfway up as I am wont to do, but I would wear it tucked and sleeves down and buttoned as well.
