These DREAM PAIRS riding boots feature a unique "banana boot" silhouette with a square toe and a 1.38-inch chunky block heel. Factually, the "banana" designation refers to the slight curve in the shaft and the vintage-inspired shape that was popular in the late '60s and '70s. In my experience, the 96-inch shaft height (mid-calf) combined with a pull-on design makes these a versatile fashion staple that works equally well with tucked-in jeans or flowy skirts. I’ve found that the chunky block heel provides excellent stability, making these a "true" all-day boot that won't cause the fatigue associated with thinner heels. I’ve noticed that the dark brown synthetic leather has a rich, matte finish that resists scuffing better than some real suedes. One practical detail: because they are pull-on boots, you’ll want to ensure your sock choice doesn't make the ankle too tight, as there is no zipper to provide extra room for entry. The DREAM PAIRS Retro Banana Boots use a thermoplastic rubber (TPR) outsole, which factually provides much better traction on wet sidewalks than traditional smooth-sole dress boots. I ordered these boots mostly because the yellow color absolutely demanded attention. And wow...this shade of yellow is amazing. It’s bold, bright, and has serious “main character walking dramatically down the sidewalk” energy. The length is great too, hitting nicely at mid-calf and looking very retro-cool. If boots could shout “look at me!” across the room, these definitely would. The quality is actually pretty solid for the price, and the shoe part fits really well. My foot felt secure and comfortable, which is always a win because nothing ruins a fashion moment faster than wobbly feet. The chunky block heel also adds a nice sturdy feel, so you can confidently stomp around looking stylish. However… the boot shaft around the ankle fits a little strange. It’s not terrible, just slightly awkward, like the boot is still deciding how ankles are supposed to work. Pros: amazing yellow color, great mid-calf length, good quality, good value, and the foot portion fits comfortably. Cons:the ankle area fits a bit oddly and doesn’t hug the leg quite how you might expect. Overall though, these boots are fun, bold, and surprisingly well made for the price; perfect if you want a retro statement boot that says, “Yes, I did choose the bright yellow ones.”

These boots look awesome right out of the box and have a really nice style to them. The overall build feels solid, and they definitely have that clean, retro-inspired look that works well with a lot of outfits. Unfortunately, that same solid construction around the ankle is also where things get tricky. There’s no zipper or stretch point, and the ankle area is pretty firm, which makes it really difficult to actually get your foot into the boot. I ordered my usual size, and while it feels like they would have fit fine once on, I simply couldn’t get my foot past the ankle opening. Because of that, I’d strongly recommend sizing up one or two sizes depending on your foot shape. It’s a bit of a letdown because I have a very similar pair (same size) with a zipper that fits perfectly. These just miss the mark on usability. Sadly, they’ll be heading to Goodwill, but with the right sizing adjustment, they could work for someone else.

Perfect in every way. This boot is really comfortable!! The square toes allows for my feet to not be squeezed all day. The slight heel is nice, and not super noticeable to walk in. The color is phenomenal. I have never had gold/yellow/turmeric boots, and I have been missing out. They looked fun to have for more lively spring and summer outfits. There is no opening, elastic, or zipper on the calf. This may be a deterrent for those with larger calves. I would call mine average, but who knows what that means. There was a small gap, which I appreciate, as I’ve definitely had boots that are tight in the calves. The boot has some pattern on the leather, gives a bit of a worn/distressed look rather than being flat colored, which gives it a bit more depth.
