It took me about a week to actually break them in with the insole that keeps it internal shape, but after doing so, they are super comfortable. Was almost afraid to return to get a half size bugger if I didn't, but in a pinch, you could probably do the heat and reshape method (take a heat gun or hair dryer to help reshape the inside to better fit your foot so it isn't constricting as you start wearing it). Careful with the type of socks your wear, too, just in case, when you start wearing them. Nothing too thick or restrictive/compression as a precaution. Otherwise, all good. Great winter boots for the price. Can be worn with jeans & dresses. Comfortable but snug on my calves. I usually wear a size 10 but ordered a size 11. I haven't worn them as of now, only test run around my home.
