The outside is a very soft plushy leather that my pictures dont really capture sorry about that. The right storage area's dividers move around and be removed if you want. Overall I'm really happy with this jewelery box, for it's size it can hold a lot, literally all my jewelery except for random studs I keep in a matchbox.
