I have worked in a hair salon for about 35 years and know what it is like to have to stand on your feet for many, many hours a day. It was always very important to me to have good shoes with good support to wear to work so when I am older I will still be able to walk and be able to stand upright. I discovered these shoes about 15 years ago and they have been perfect, no slip soles, waterproof, nice arch support and just enough cushion and they tie so you can adjust how tight you want them ......... I liked them so much I bought a pair for my daughter who works as a baker at a bakery and also stands all day and she has liked them as well. It was time for us to get new ones, so I ordered them again on amazon as I have done for years now. I found that the new pairs of shoes sent to me did not have any arch support or cushion in the shoe. It is very flat inside and has no arch support anymore and now the bottoms of my feet are bothering me and I'm sure my back will start to bother me soon. I am very disappointed; these are not the shoes I have ordered through the years although they have the SAME NAME and are made by the SAME COMPANY and have bought them from the SAME PLACE, AMAZON. They are comfortable and fit very well. I would not classify them as wide though. I will know a bit more on how well they are such as flexibility, comfort, and durability once I have worked in them tomorrow. They are definitely a smooth black which proves that they are resistant to spills. They look more like tennis shoes than they do "slip resistant" shoes which is nice. They do not just slip on, you do have to manually put them on and tie them, they have shorter laces than anticipated. But they are definitely worth the buy. ... show more

All Sneakers our days are BAD. They are hurting my feet. Tried NEW BALANCE which are heavy and narrow. Then tried those Dr. Scholl's Shoes Women's Kimberly Work Shoe and they are still NARROW even when wide. I bought them 15 yrs ago and they were much more comfortable than today. SNEAKERS are not created to make us comfortable...and they are not what they used to be. MADE IN CHINA is probably the problem...... but what I DISLIKE WITH AMAZON is that the minute you buy a pair of sneakers or clothes the PRICE GOES UP $15-20. THAT IS SICK. I avoid buying from AMAZON because they are stealing from people. That's my take on buying on the AMAZON webiste. Sorry!!!! Those sneakers are OKAY but NOT WHAT THEY USED TO BE. ... show more

I buy these shoes every time. They have become my permanent work shoes. I don’t feel like they offer a great deal of arch support so occasionally I’ll buy some inserts. Stitching will make it the 6 months but you should never try to exceed wearing the same set beyond 6 months. The last set I had I wore well over a year and the stitching began to split but like I previously said, you should never wear a set of shoes that long anyways. I work where getting blood, urine, and other bodily fluids can potentially splash on my shoes. These prevent the substances from entering and are easy to wipe off. ... show more

Needed black non slip shoes for work so tried these but they are awful. Was going to return after trying them on because of how uncomfortable they are, but in the fine print says they have to be unworn. So next time I need shoes I will not buy online. The sole is hard, for Dr Scholls I expected it to have some kind of padding like any others I've bought in the past. They are wide in the back, too wide they flop. The front toe area is not wide & is so tight it pinches so my toes. My feet hurt after taking them off. I have been trying to break them in for a week now (30 minutes a day) to see if that helps so far it has not, Just gave me blisters on my toes. I can get much better shoes elsewhere for half the cost. ... show more
