Great for my wide feet!

I think I just found my dream boots! First time doc purchased here and don’t regret the $$ for a second. I am usually between a size 8-8.5 and ALWAYS try to get wide fit shoes cause I hate the feeling of my feet being smooshed. I saw all the comments to size down but I’ve made that mistake in the past with other shoes and always regret it since it doesn’t apply to my wide set feet. I ended up sticking with a size 8 and i definitely think that was the right call. After putting on the boots with just my cotton socks I wear with sneakers, it was a bit loose in my ankle/heel area but the toe box fit just right with enough room for my toes. I tightened the laces on my ankle put double socks on and it feels good but my heel is still popping up when I walk. After consulting google, the leather still needs time to form to my feet. I’m also very picky when it comes to boot toe boxes but these are so cute and look great with bootcut jeans, skirts, shorts. Absolutely in love! Also, it’s super convenient not to have to tie up the boots every time you put them on and I can easily slip with on and off with the zipper. So happy with this purchase!

A flurry of packages has been going back and forth between Amazon and me. Trying to find a pair of doc martens I really love, trying to figure out what size will fit (their shoes are wildly inconsistent and in one style you'll need a 9 while in another you'll need a 10 and so on), returning a pair in the wrong color...and so on. I decided I was going to give up if this pair of Sinclair's wasn't right for me. Fortunately, it passed muster. True, there are issues. The 11 is HUGE on me whereas this pair of 10s is borderline too tight (why no half sizes, Doc?) but dammit, I'm keeping 'em. And, on NO size have I tried has the zipper fit me, so I'm just leaving it open. That said, I otherwise love them. They look badass even with the flower buckles and I love the platforms. I'm 61, a Doc wearer since probably before you were born, and "back in my day" there were no platforms. I just love them and now will only wear platforms because they feel lighter somehow (and these boots are quite heavy!) Anyway, despite the issues mentioned above, I love them. They look great with jeans and even some dresses or skirts. They're simple yet have a touch of uniqueness to them. Can never have too many Doc Martens.

Slimmer feet size down and BREAK.THEM.IN!!

I hate that I wasted catching the sale when they were $150 on the wrong size. I ordered them in my normal size (8) after much back and forth due to the reviews being split between "size down" and "true to size". Well wouldn't you know it....they were to loose and floppy. Some might be ok with it and prefer a bit of space but I'm 5'1" and they look high to me even with thick socks. The leather wrinkles and buckles. I returned them and repurchased a size 7 from popular shoe store in the mall for $50 more, ugh. They fit and feel a bit snug but the clerk reassured me that I need to break them in and they'd be fine. I've only worn them a couple times and it's a painful process but I think they're almost there. They're so cuuuute to. Pictures beside my favorite platform boots for reference. They're the perfect height and are super cute with everything! Get them but I suggest trying them on in-store first.

High Maintenance & WORTH IT

I cannot tell you how much I love these boots, BUT DO YOUR RESEARCH. I read a ton of reviews and leaned towards buying my true size (a size 8). When I got them my feet were swimming around even with thick socks. I ended up getting the measurement specs from the Dr. Marten’s website and found out the 7 is what I needed. So glad I did the exchange. The 7s are a touch tight with super thick socks, but I know they’ll stretch out a little. Another warning is that breaking in these boots is no joke. The blisters I got from 20 minutes of wearing them took weeks to heal. I ended up using the Dr. Martens leather polish on in the inside heel to loosen up the leather and soften the seams (which helped!) But I also bought silicon heel protectors and these are game changers. I won’t need them eventually, but for days when I want to wear them for a long time I use the protectors and it’s a dream. All of this seems like a lot, but these boots are comfortable (maybe heavy for some) and so beautiful. I can tell they will last me a long time and the style is just right. TLDR; if you buy these be prepared to buy tools to help you break them in!

GORGEOUS BOOTS—-Buy these!! 💜😊✌️

So I have been searching for new black boots for a while, ordering—trying them on and sending back. I had the Sinclair Black Doc Martins in the past and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED and adored them to the point I wore them practically everyday!! My old pair I was from 2020-2023 and the only reason I decided to get a new pair was that I wore out the bottom of the boots LOL… that’s how much I wore them. The leather is still in good shape… It was about that time. I tried different Doc Martin styles and they didn’t compare to the Sinclairs. The SINCLAIRs are the best in my opinion! The texture of the leather, how soft they are, how easy to break them in and ONE important advice if you usually WEAR 7.5 - 8 size in shoes, you are going to want to go one size down. I chose the 7s and there is still room for a insole if I want. Size 8 is too big!! If you like a little space then size 7 is perfect and you can wear thicker socks and zip them up and tie the shoe lace around the ankle like I do. I love the look of that!! Hope this review helps!!! You won’t be disappointed with the Sinclairs!! 💜🙏🏼😎✌️

The listing shows these as matte/flat black. If you look at the listing pictures, they’re matte soft pebbled leather, like the Devon Flower boot. Although they come high-gloss, like rainboot material. Oxford vegan leather. There are actually two listings for this “Sinclair Milled Nappa” boot here on Amazon and the other one’s come in the matte material per the review photos, so if you want that matte finish, find the other listing. ALL OF THAT ASIDE, I love these boots. I ordered from this listing in hopes of receiving the Oxford version of this boot and I got them. They're not on the website in this material either. The zipper piece is removable, and these are much lighter than other styles I’ve tried because they have far less material in the walls of the boot. The soles are obviously still very heavy but that’s docs. Couldn’t be more happy with my purchase, definitely a cool pair to catch on sale.
