Nothing like the original Docs but what is like the original nowadays. Mine in the early eighties was nearly indestructible. And had a lifetime warranty from the factory. If this pair lasts more than 5 years, it should get a retirement with pension. Anyways as I said, it is good for what it is.

The boots look nice. They were the correct boots. However, they did not come in an original box and they were previously tried on and returned. The fit around the toe area is too tight for me, I don't know if Dr Martin makes different width boots. I decided to keep these because they came at a good price and I think I can stretch the leather. ... show more

Took a while to break in and the blisters on the back of my heels were massive, but once they were broken in, they are SO comfortable. I love that they have a more chunky look without being too heavy or having a platform.

The leather is amazing. This is the most premium leather I’ve ever seen on Docs. The perfect balance of toughness and softness. It feels like the leather on a nice leather chair. No break-in period for these. I wear a 10.5 in Nike & Adidas and I got a Men’s 10 in these and they feel a little bit big. I’ve worn docs off and on for 30 years and even though these are made in Vietnam the quality is great. ... show more

I have had and worn docs since the early '90's, and still wear a pair from '97, so I know docs. These docs were unbelievably uncomfortable. The sizing was kinda weird, but I think it had to do with the construction, more than anything thing else. The tongue of the boot is attached by a gusset, causing a fold in the leather on either side of the foot. That causes horrible pressure points to the top of the foot. You can actually see the folds on the outside of the boots. To alleviate the pressure, the boot laces can't be snug at all, which makes the boot slide around on your foot. I wore thick, tight socks and they walked down my foot inside the boot very quickly. Also, because of the odd tongue construction, I couldn't use my insoles. That was a deal breaker on these boots, because there is no arch support. These boots are not very female flattering, if you have larger feet, either. They kinda of resemble clown shoes.
