Great shoe, I specifically got it for work. I'm glad it worked out that way because it has a dry matte type. Finish not very my style for going out. Fancy the uh other style, the Brown would be more for entertainment. The break in period was just a couple of days. My 1st day I had to right Switch in and out of my sneakers several times just do it a pressure on one foot, but overall worth it. In the end, they're very soft and quiet, which is nice. Whereas I work in an environment that does require some silence. Happy with the shoes Doc Martens are always a go to.... I just don't buy them directly from doc Martins anymore. Because yeah, I had a thief steal my purchase from my doorstep, and ups.And darth martins did nothing to help me. ... show more

I'm being harsh with 4 stars The style i get compliments They felt comfortable immediately Problem is heel comfort and fit Definitely I needed to buy smaller and this is still maybe a little too long Problem is it's tight enough up front just too much space behind my heel to stay solidly in place I think I need a size 8 wide Size 9 has a little too much room but narrow for my flat feet Also zero arch support Horrible gap if you have any arch whatsoever I used the half insole arch support and better But these are still stiff rubber I don't think these are good for more than a few hours outside I've worked a few weeks in them and they're average everything at best Mostly it's the style I dont even really feel like the leather is substantial compared to my sorel chelsea boots I just bought It's like a thin leather picky fitting shoe that comes with an overbuilt painful shoe sole All about the style Which It gets a whole star just for this Buy it for looks and mingling ... show more

The leather is great and supple and can be cleaned easily and rewaxed with Doc Martens Dubbin sold on Amazon. Be careful as they do run large and I recommend as an added expense the Doc Marten innersoles for more padding and also sold on Amazon.
