With 8 eyes, classic leather, yellow stitching and grooved sides, the 1460 carries the DNA of the original Doc Martens boot. The only difference? No ankle binding. Built to last, this women’s boot is forged using one of the finest methods of construction: utilizing a Goodyear welt and heat-sealing it to the sole. The 1460 is made with highly durable leather and sits on an AirWair sole, which is oil and fat resistant with good abrasion and slip resistance. Use Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam to protect the leather and keep your boots clean, soft and supple.

I ordered both the Pascals and the 1460s (from another store) for my daughter (age 17) to compare, assuming we would return one. The difference in the details are: The Pascals leather is softer, with a slight pebbly finish, and the top (around your ankle) is a tiny bit shorter, and the leather is just cut off - making it more pliable, so it doesn't rub your ankle/leg. The 1460s are a stiffer leather with a smoother, shinier finish, and have a sewn hem type edging along the top. When she wore the 1460s she noticed two things. The top edging rubbed her leg just above the ankle, and her heel slipped and rubbed painfully where the heel cup and shaft join - right on her achilles. The size on the Pascals were comparable to the 1460s, but the Pascals were a tiny bit narrower, and more compact, making them look slightly more refined (not as combat looking). She liked both shoes, but chose the Pascals for three reasons - no painful break-in period; finish of the leather; and it was easier to return the 1460's purchased at a local store (rather than shipping back to Amazon seller). I want to leave a solid review here because it took me some time to purchase these and I read numerous reviews prior to. Sizing is confusing, I wear an 8.5 womens. I went with the 8W (not to be confused with Wide, the W stands for womens). I sized down because I didn't want extra room in my boot. I tend to prefer my shoes on the tighter side, plus I was concerned the extra room would cause blisters from friction and movement (as my Frye boots did when I ordered a size up). These boots are BEAUTIFUL. Exactly as I remembered from my pair I owned in high school. They fit tight on first wear, especially where the tongue meets the boot (the seam). So I wore wet wool socks for 3 hours in them to soften em up and form them to my feet. My left foot a slightly bigger than my right so this shoe fits tighter but not horribly uncomfortable at all. I wore them with regular socks last night for 5 hours and they fit AWESOME already. No discomfort at all. Super fast and easy to break in when it comes to a leather boot. My Fryes took months to break in and quite honestly, they still aren't nearly as comfortable at these. I'd feel confident wearing these all day or to walk around in alot. LOVE LOVE THEM.

These are my second pair of Pascals, absolutely the best purchase in way of online shoe shopping. The Pascals are a much softer leather and do not cut into the top of your ankles as the 1480's tend to when breaking in. A much tighter fit when lacing it up as well which I appreciate since I have narrower feet. The heel and tip of shoes are very sturdy and not soft like the top half which is wonderful for its durability. I plan on getting a pair in every color that's how much I loves these! *I am a true 8.5 and I would recommend if you are a 8 or 8.5 to get these for sure. I originally got a pair of 9's which did not fit in the least, go smaller since they are very roomy.

Oh gd it I love these boots. I went with the Pascal because I was told they are tighter, slightly less wide and bulky compared to the others. Less unisex, I guess (YouTube it). Very satisfied with the fit though they need some breaking in (size 8-8.5 F in the USA, I got a size 6). So, I got my first full time job as an adult so I’m finally letting myself buy all the things I deeply wanted as a kid but could never afford. High school me? At peace now that I FINALLY have some “Doctor Martens, Doctor Martens, Doctor Martens’ boots!” (Bonus points if you know the reference!) <3

Updated 28.8.18 The Boots are fine and very good looking and have no other issues after a month. hence i raised the star rating to 3/5, if the pair i got will keep performing normally the rating will be raised. - my only issue is the disinformation stating "New" when it's clear it was either a display pair or a pair made of old stock left overs, since the thickness and condition of the leather was not identical on both boots (one boot looked as it was measured or worn before and the tongue leather was noticeably thinner than in the other boot. i had conditioned and oiled the boots and polished out the visible issues. they indeed required patient and devoted conditioning to return the leather to fresh appearance. other than that, the boots are original and genuine and are identically made and finished as my other Red Temperley Pascals which arrived fresh and brand new from Amazon. Despite the Boots being described as "New" they have not arrived in an Original box, but rather in a cardboard box saying that the Original Box was damaged... there were no Tags on the boots. both of the boots arrived with very dry leather, as if they were stored in very hot warehouse or displayed before in the sun. the right boot had a scratch done by sharp object, visible scratch on the front cap, and few more non removable scuffs, and in general felt like it was measured or worn before due to the wrinkles, while the second boot was in an unworn condition. the leather was so dry that using wonder balsam didn't help much... so dry that the seller could have added me a free jar of leather conditioner. shoelaces are also dried out and peeling of the material was already visible. there were also unexplained signs of cracking on the outsole. after wearing them for few hours and a short walk a tiny bit of rubber from the back of the outsole peeled off. the negative review is not about the Dr Martens boot as i ordered also an identical model in red which arrived in 100% condition. this pair was clearly not "New" and could have been described as such i might have chose not to order it. i order many pairs of Dr Martens via Amazon, this is the only pair which arrived in such condition. and was not true to description. photos of unpacking attached.
