We like the fact that Dr. brown nipples are not that expensive to replace. Also they do not wear out that quickly and retain their soft shape. Our lil guy was on level 1 for the longest time then went through level 2 & 3 fairly quickly then ended up at level 4 by the time he was 15mo. Y cut we bought but hardly used; maybe more useful if you make your baby's bottle thicker with rice cereal or alike. We never really followed the recommended age range on the nipple. We assess the need to go up a level based on the readiness signs of our child. ... show more

    • Works great when adding rice cereal
As a stay at home dad of twins, baby bottles have become a large part of my life. As the twins reached 4 months our pediatrician suggested that we started adding rice cereal to their formula. Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Level 2 allow for the cereal to be used with the formula in their regular bottles. These nipples also allow for a faster feeding so the kids don't have to work as hard. I would suggest the first couple of times being very vigilant watching the amount consumed. Likely, your child has been sucking pretty hard at the Level 1s and will continue this intensity with the new nipples. You will look away for a minute and notice 4 ounces gone in a blink of the eye. A little more information for those who are starting the switch to cereal. For whatever reason we actually use both Dr Brown's and Avent bottles. Our son uses the Dr Browns while our girl uses the Avent. When we started adding cereal we changed to the 3 month Avent nipples when we changed to these nipples. I had a very hard time feeding her with Avent as the nipple seemed to clog up on a regular basis. I have started to switch her over the Dr Brown Level 2's and we are seeing great improvement. ... show more

    • We love these for our newborn twins!
We had been using Chicco bottles for my newborn twins, but as they started taking more formula, we noticed the amount of bubbles in the bottle was ridiculous! So many that I thought there was soap residue in the bottle (there was not) - we use Kirkland formula, which has been said to be bubbly. The babies were also very gassy and crying towards the end of their bottle. I needed more bottles and decided to try these...basically no bubbles at all, even with the Kirkland brand formula! Much less gas, and much less fussing! The babies seem to be much better on these bottles (so far, after a week). In fact, I tried to use a Chicco bottle when all of these were in the dishwasher (yes, dishwasher safe!), and MY LORD did I have miserable babies for the rest of the day! Their pediatrician has since said to stick to the Dr. Brown's bottles. Also, we have had no problems with leaking so far. ... show more

Exactly what I needed. My baby just turned 3 months and the size 1 nipple was starting to deflate and he was getting fussy when he would drink from the bottle, so this was the perfect solution. It fit perfectly into his 8 oz bottles. Good flow, fuller tummy, and longer sleep!

    • Perfect for 3 month olds!
The babe was getting frustrated with the Level 1 nipple (that was installed in our bottles) and at the time we had no idea (first time parents). So we started thinking and thought, man, he is really, really hungry and getting frustrated with the bottle. I feed with the bottle (seeing as how I do not have the lady parts to acommodate the little guy) so I recognized this. Time for the upgrade! What a difference it makes! No longer does it take 20+ minutes for him to feed. It's gone in a snap and he's out for the moment. Now I can get back to shopping on Amazon! ... show more

    • Depends on the child as to how well they will work
It's reviews like this where I wish I could write the review without having to assign stars to it. The product does exactly what it says it does - its a faster flowing nipple and a step up from the size 1 nipple that comes standard with the bottles. So why shouldn't it receive 5 stars? I switched my 4 month old to the size 2 because even she was becoming frustrated by the slowness of the size 1 nipple (which is labeled as 0-3 months) so it made sense to move her to the next size. However, she eats too quickly and eventually spits up most of the formula with the size 2. Feedings actually started taking longer because I had to burp her every ounce or so and take breaks, but it didn't help. She has always needed a lot of burping, but this nipple increased it tenfold. So, we are back to the size 1. We also tried a tiny amount of cereal in her formula one night with the size 2 ( just an experiment), but the nipple is too small to allow any cereal to get through. It just clogs the nipple completely and nothing comes up. So, it is too fast for her now, but when she starts with cereal in the future, it will be too small. Update: I've changed my rating because I've decided it depends on the child as to how well these work. My first daughter drank too quickly and these were just too fast for her. We had a second girl in Nov. 2017 and these have been great for her. She's a slower drinker, but with strong suction and kept collapsing the stage 1 nipples so we moved her to this size around 4 months and they worked great. Now she's 8 months and again collapsing this nipple because of such strong suction so we'll try the stage 3 and see how they work. ... show more

We liked it. It’s definitely a step up from premie. We definitely had to wait before baby could use this level. At one month level 1 was too fast.
