Before we had our baby, almost all of our friends recommended Dr. Brown’s bottles. I still ended up buying a few different brands to try, but these were the only ones my baby liked. The size and shape are perfect—not too big and not too wide. My baby didn’t like the shorter, fatter bottles at all, but did great with these narrow ones. They’re very good quality, durable, and have held up well with daily use. They’re also easy to clean despite the anti-colic pieces, and I love that they’re glass and long-lasting. Good quality glass bottles, just recently switched over to the larger 8oz bottles for my son, his face when he saw the biggest bottle of his life was pretty funny! Anyways, they do as they claim, let excess air out and help a colicky baby. They clean and sterilize well, the paint on the outside doesn’t fade. I like the glass, even though the airlocks and lids are plastic, there is less plastic all around which I think is good for a container that is subjected to high heat for cleaning and then sterilization daily. ... show more

According to the manufacturer, it’s “clinically proven to reduce colic… decreases spit‑up, burping and gas.” Dr. Brown's +2 Amazon +2 In practice, our baby seemed calmer during feedings and had fewer burps and gas episodes right after switching to this bottle. The glass bottle is high quality: borosilicate glass, heat and thermal shock‑resistant (so you can handle warm/hot to cool transitions) according to specs. Amazon I like that glass instead of plastic, for durability, feel, and avoiding plastic concerns. The nipple shape is thoughtful: described as “breast‑like nipple shape” to encourage proper latch and smoother transition between breast and bottle. Dr. Brown's +1 Our baby took to it quite readily. Flexibility/growth consideration: The internal vent system can be removed as baby grows and their feeding needs change — so you don’t necessarily need to switch to a totally different bottle brand later.
