I have been searching for something like this for A LONG time. I make myself a fancy-ish coffee/tea every morning. I am someone who, when drinking a hot beverage... actually likes it to stay hot. So I typically drank out of a "travel mug" while at home. But this is so much more... satisfying. The ceramic is great, as is the rich color, and the cork is not only aesthetic but functional (no ring marks on your wooden coffee table or nightstand). In fact, you could say that about the whole mug. Aesthetic and functional. My favorite combination for all things in life. The well-fitting lid that sinks discreetly and reminds you of perfection, just like shade-grown sustainably grown locally roasted coffee mixed with the just the right amount of turbinado sugar and organic heavy cream. Perfection containing perfection. Doesn't get much better than that. Bonus, they come with two, and my girlfriend loves hers too. She doesn't need her drink to stay as hot though... so she doesn't use the lid as religiously as I do. That's what is so cool about it. with a travel mug, when you aren't using a lid it just seems like its missing from the design. These remain elegant with or without. These are good quality mugs with a weighty feel and secure lid. The only point of concern was that the metal coin on the bottom of both mugs (these are the attach points for the magnetic cork base) were detached and I had to resecure them with superglue. The factory adhesive was obviously of poor quality so I would encourage anyone who buys these mugs to check the metal coin on the base of each mug and make sure it's solidly locked in place. If loose, they may come off during washing and if one fell down into a garbage disposal you will not have a good time picking it out. ... show more

The mugs look good but function only marginally better at retaining heat than an everyday ceramic mug. The lid and cork coaster *probably* do slow some heat loss but don't expect to notice much. The heat radiating from the remainder of the mug overwhelms any advantage of these features. In short, these are not insulated to any meaningful degree. Your coffee or tea will still get as cold as fast as before. Also, the cork coaster adheres to the mug by a magnet affixed to the coaster and a metal slug affixed to the bottom of the mug. On both my cups, the slugs have fallen off, which required my having to glue them back on. I suspect the reason this happens is because heat from the cup undermines the integrity of whatever adhesive they use to attach the slug to the mug. I used a high heat tolerant superglue to reattach the slugs, which seems to have fixed what is essentially an aesthetic problem. Rated 3 star for average quality and function. It's no better or worse than that promotional coffee mug you won as a door prize at your company's most recent teambuilding training. ... show more

First order lasted years but recently broke last cup. Ordered new set and the bottom of both cups falls off within two weeks of using… quality not as in previous cups… would not purchase again.

If you like coffee in a ceramic mug vs. stainless steel, and want to take it to go, these are an excellent option. Keeps coffee warm and doesn't spill. The cork bottom portion is a neat feature to help it from clanking on counters or slipping on surfaces, also you get two for a great price. The only downside to these mugs is the cork is held on with a magnet and thus can not be put in the microwave. Would I recommend this product: Yes. ... show more
