I've tried many aluminum-free deodorants and for the most part, they don't work very well but there are a few exceptions. Here are the ones I've tried and how I liked them in rank order: Winners - These work great for body odor: #1 - Dove - winner by a long shot - works and applies like regular deodorant. All-weather long-lasting protection. This is so good that I can hardly believe it's aluminum-free. Fairly priced too. #2 - Lume - works very well but, applies like a sticky lotion. It's also pretty pricy. #3 - Crystal Mineral Deodorant Stone - This one always made me nervous because it never really applied and product to my skin. It worked well for quite a while and then seemed to stop. Not sure it the minerals in the stone were depleted or if it just stopped working for me. More testing would be required with a new stick. Medium - Will do in a pinch - Works moderately well on body odor, but not as well as a regular deodorant. I'm hesitant to use these during the summer. #3 - UnderArmed - Seems to work moderately well. A little waxy in texture but otherwise applies like normal deodorant. #4 - Schmidt's Natural Deodorant - comes in a 2 oz jar that is applied like lotion - didn't care for application and only works moderately well on body odor. #5 - Jason - applies like normal deodorant but doesn't really do the job on body odor for very long. SUCKS - Waste of money and doesn't work at all #6 Secret - Applies like normal deodorant but has almost no impact on body odor. I was stinky by the end of a cool day after working in an air-conditioned office and only walking from the office to my car (10 feet from the front door). A deodorant that’s not an antiperspirant and works for sensitive skin is hard to find. Dove 0% aluminum is that for me and I have been using it for a while. This scent is new to me and the bundle is cheaper than what I’d be able to get in my local pharmacy if I bought it one at a time. If asked to smell the deodorant without looking at the name though, rose petal wouldn’t not exactly be the first thing that comes to mind. That being said, it does somewhat remind me of a rose petal once I’ve smelled it for long enough and it smells nice and clean. Would buy again. ... show more

I've been on the hunt for a great aluminum free deodorant for a long time. I've spent hundreds of dollars over the years trying out all the natural brands, even premium $30 doller jars and sticks. Some of them hold up okay, but I always hate the smell. Or they're a nightmare to wash off in the shower. There's always been a huge downside to each one I've tried. I avoided Dove forever because I wasn't interested in the moisturizing aspect of it. Surely an "armpit lotion" won't work, right? I was horribly wrong and I've been absolutely missing out on something right in front of me all these years. This stuff is it. I work a physical job and it holds up great. Some days I might have the *faintest* bit of BO sneaking through after a job, but it is really not noticable unless I stick my face under my arm. And as a note, I've never had a single deodorant pass a rough work day with no BO on me. Dove might not be 100% but it's better than everything else I've tried. And the SMELL! I've been trying so hard to find "my" smell. I like unisex smells that are a balanced mix of feminine and masculine. I'm not a fan of all floral, or all spicey. Most brands are extremely polarized with their scents. I am a sucker for cotton smells so I ordered Cotton and Sandalwood to try it out. I finally found my deodorant! This scent is literally the BEST mix of feminine/masculine I have ever come across. It doesn't lean too hard in either direction. It's the wonderful clean smell of cotton, but the crisp smell of sandalwood at the same time, rather than one smell following the other. I adore this scent so much and I'm so happy I've found it! It also washes off great in the shower! Other brands I have to scrub and scrub, two or three times, and I still have residue and scent on me. This comes off clean, and feels clean when I wear it. It isn't gummy or thick. I will caution people to apply it correctly though. I feel that a lot of reviewers just give a swipe or two directly over the armpit hair area. With ANY deodorant, you also need to cover 1-2" outside the hair area in every direction as well, otherwise bacteria still pop up and creep inward, nullifying what you've put on. I learned this with Crystal deodorant and have applied that tactic to everything else I've tried, and this has worked well for me. Finding the right deodorant is hard because everybody's body chemistry is different. Sometimes things that smell nice before application mix with your sweat and skin and come out smelling just dreadful. For me at least, I'm sold and Dove has gained a life-long customer. ... show more

Pros: I was looking for deodorant that was free of aluminum but wouldn’t break the bank - here it is! This dove deodorant glides on so smoothly and has a super fresh smell (Cucumber and Green Tea). Cons: I notice that upon wearing it for a few hours, I do start to smell and often want to reapply (I am postpartum so this may be due to hormones!). I’ve also noticed that sometimes I’ll have a collection of the product under my arms in ball shapes at the end of the day at times. Although there are a few cons for me, I feel that knowing this product is aluminum free and is reasonably priced is enough for me to continue using and buying. ... show more

I really like this deodorant because it has 0% aluminum, which is exactly what I was looking for. It smells soooo good (even my boyfriend wanted to use it!). As someone who sweats a lot, I feel like this works just as good, and if not better, than deodorants with aluminum. The only thing to take note of is that if you are switching from aluminum, there is a detox period which makes your armpits really sensitive, especially after shaving. This caused a little bit of burning for me but I just waited a couple hours to use the deodorant after shaving. Other than that, this works great! ... show more

Great purchase. I tried the shea butter scent and liked it but when I saw this coconut version I gave it a try and loved it! It's smooth, the scent is light and very good. It works all day long, or even in a hard workout at the gym! It doesn't tint the clothes, and it goes amazing on sensitive skin.
