I ordered this clothing rack to replace a flimsy one I had that simply wasn’t working for me any longer. I liked the idea of the two tiers in addition to the storage rack on the bottom. This one does get the job done and will hold a fair amount of weight (the product listing specifies 133 lbs. weight capacity—33 lb. each rod + 44 lbs capacity on the bottom rack) and the rods are adjustable. The extra hooks on the sides are super helpful and a great bonus. It’s relatively sturdy if you stick to the weight parameters. The price is similar, though on the lower end of the average spectrum compared to other racks this size & material on Amazon ($40 in Black at the time of writing this review). I initially received a defective rack with no assembly parts, but was able to return & received a new one super quickly. Overall, it’s not the world’s greatest clothing rack but is an improvement compared to my previous ones. However, I still feel like there are plenty of other better options out there. This is a good option is you’re super limited with your budget and don’t need it to hold a ton of stuff.

The first thing I noticed is that this is light wood, not metal like my other racks. At first I thought that would be nice, it's lighter, easier to move. But then I started putting it together. First, the instructions are horrible. one of the first things it tells you to do it to put the wheels on the bottom, but doesn't give you any indication of which side of the part is the bottom (note, it's the one with the larger hole in the middle). Then, I noticed that because it's wood, the holes are just "starter holes". You actually screw into the wood, unlike metal racks where the hole is there all the way and you're screwing into grooves along the sides. They give you these little tools that look like Allen wrenches, although one end of each one is a Phillips head screwdriver. Get your own screwdriver. A power one would be best. There is no way you can get enough torque with these little things to screw in the screws. So between the poor instructions and the inability to actually use the tools it came with, and trying to assemble this away from home where all my tools are, this almost went in the trash. Now, there are things I like about it, especially the adjustable middle bar. You might even be able to eliminate the bar if you wanted to hang dresses, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's not the sturdiest thing ever and that middle bar provides some structure. I'd avoid this one, pay a little more, and get something sturdier.

Putting it together was not "a breeze" like described on the web page. It was a bit tedious. The tools supplied were an open-end wrench for attaching the wheels to the bottom of the hanger assembly and two different Allen wrenches. The long end of the Allen wrenches had a Philips driver end that made using the Allen wrench more difficult because that screwdriver end was a little sharp. But the Philips driver was handy for starting some bolts before using the Allen wrench end and there were some screws that ONLY used the Philips driver. The bamboo wood construction made screws and bolts require some torque to sock them home. At one point I got a regular Philips screwdriver from my own tool kit because that was easier on my fingers than using the tiny Allen wrench with the Philips driver end. All the preceding complaints were relatively minor, but, again, it was not literally "a breeze". It took me between 50 and 60 minutes to complete assembly. Including tools is a nice touch, you can completely assemble it right from the packing carton, technically you do NOT need to use your own tools, even though I did at one point to make it easier for myself. The bamboo construction is an asset because bamboo is a very hard wood, and screws tighten up nicely in it. I had only one screw that stripped the pre-drilled hole, but I believe that pre-drilled hole was drilled incorrectly; it was too large in diameter, so the screw was not grabbing the wood from the very beginning. I never felt the usual resistance, it just spun round until I decided to stop. It was one of the tree appendages at the top that uses a wooden dowel and a screw. If it should fail there, I can glue that dowel in and try a larger screw from my own collection. I was mildly worried about how stable it would be when I first opened up the carton and saw so many narrow pieces of bamboo, but after assembly I was pleasantly surprised at how stable it was. It has limitations of 33 lbs. on the hangar bars and 44 lbs. on the bottom four-bar shelf area. I would not wheel it around the house from room to room onto rugs and whatnot, but for moving it in our bedroom that is off the laundry room it appears to be plenty resilient enough. It has a good look and feel and will be a welcome addition to our laundry area. We have two old, rickety collapsible dryer stands that we will put away to use in a pinch now that we have this much nicer-looking drying rack.

I found it easy to assemble this clothing rack twice. I got it for my bedroom, and it helped me store most of my extra clothes. My friend liked it so much that we decided to disassemble it and move it to his place in another city. Once again, it was easy to assemble, and it remained sturdy and fully functional. It looks great and can hold a lot of clothes on its two tiers, in addition to the storage base. It rolls smoothly, making it highly portable. Overall, it’s a fantastic clothing rack that is simple to assemble and use!

This bamboo clothes rack was akward to assemble, and is rickety and flimsy. The bamboo construction is not up to holding many clothes, and the height is not sufficient for longer clothes. I recommend staying away from this inferior product.
