The journal has a faux suede feeling to it. It is very sturdy and the papers inside do not tear too easily in my opinion. You do get a lot of great stuff to start a “bullet/dotted” journal with especially for a beginner such as myself. It has a clear plastic protector page in front and a suede-like pocket in back that isn’t very flexible in my amateur opinion. The pens do not bleed through with normal writing and light coloring but if you’re like me and really “abuse” paper, it will bleed. You may need to put a napkin between the pages if you don’t want to ruin your next page. It will still bleed to the back but it will also bleed onto the other front page too so I recommend either scrap paper or a paper towel between pages. You could also use crayon or colored pencil in order to color and that would suffice. I’ve been using crayon although I have an awesome set of colored pencils i just haven’t broken them out yet. I’m colorblind so my scratch test in the photos has question marks because I’m guessing those are the colors. If I could suggest anything to the company it would be to have the color names on the side of the pens somewhere. I love to color but I can’t figure them all out. I’m not monochromatic colorblind but I struggle with brown, red, green, gold, blue, purple and gray primarily. And it would be so cool if pen companies could consider us in the future and label their pens like crayon companies label crayons. I know crayon companies do it for kids but colorblind people never have the “option” to truly learn the colors the way color sighted folks do. Anyway I digress. This beautiful journal inspires my creativity. I love the texture of the bonder and the feel of the paper. The included black ink pen is blah. Just not my type at all. But the included black fineline pen is pretty good. Not the best but I have some really great black pens in the home anyway. Also this journal has a pen loop so even if you don’t use it for the included pen you can put your own pen in it and never have to search around for a pen when you want to get down to business. I would definitely recommend for newbies and this makes a great gift for a creative person who loves to journal or write. ... show more

I'm not using all the stuff that came with it but it's still a good value. I just wish I could order more paper and a larger binder. I would use the small one for everyday and a larger one for reference.

I've never tried bullet journaling before but quarantine has me bored at home most of the time so I thought I'd give it a shot. First off everything is well packaged. It was like opening a ton of presents on Christmas and there was SO MUCH stuff included. The stuff that is included is high quality. They even included stencils that would actually be useful in a bullet journal! The journal itself is very sturdy and has a little place to put your pen of choice. I like that it's not only a binder style journal with removable pages but the pages are perforated as well. For someone who doesnt fill notebooks for fear of committing to a design, this takes that away completely. I can just take out a page when I dont like it without ruining the book. Absolutely love this binder! It is perfect for me to bullet journal in. I was unhappy with regular bound journals because I was more worried about messing up and having to tear out a page. Now I can simply remove it and not have any evidence of a mess up! I also love almost everything it comes with. Plenty of paper, cute stencils that I still use all the time! After learning about bullet journals, I wanted to create my own without spending a fortune because I didn't know if I would stick with it. I also wanted a binder format so I could move pages around as I refined the set-up that worked for me. This kit allowed me to do just that. The cover is a beautiful teal blue and a nice texture. It's showing a little wear on the corners after carrying it around with me for two months, but I still get compliments about my journal all the time. The pens are perfect because I have a variety of colors to play with. The paper is better quality than I expected. The ruler is flexible enough to move from day to day without breaking. I don't really use the stickers, stencils or washi tape because that's not really my thing and the scissors are cheap. But I still got much more than I expected for the price. I am so pleased with this journal. It's very pretty but if you get anything on the cover, it may be hard to clean. It came with a lot of stencils and the set of thin line pens are great! The small tabs have come in handy and the moveable bookmark/ ruler is great! I think I've used everything included and haven't had issues with anything. I love that once I use up the paper I'm able to easily refill. I also suggest buying separate tabs if you need sections in your notebook. The size is perfect for every day use. I went ahead and gave the product 5 stars but I have to add a note about the indentations that allow for easy tearing. It allowed for way too easy of tearing and I lost many pages because of it because some pages would tear from just lifting them. Other pages would be stuck together (see picture) and when separating them, they would tear. But, I ended up using the washi tape (as seen in the photo) to secure the pages and this worked well! I love the color and size of the journal. It is a great kit! If you are ok with using washi tape to secure the pages, I would highly recommend this kit! ... show more
