  • Please Read The Perfume Notes Before Buying! Please Read The Perfume Notes Before Buying!
I think the name "fruity brown sugar" trips people up with this. It's not the sellers fault a lot of people clearly didn't bother to open and expand the product image, the very first one btw, that clearly displays the top, middle, and base notes (full of florals). They are are follows: Top notes- bergamot, raspberry, pear Middle notes- jasmine, orange blossom, brown sugar Base: patchouli, amber, vanilla The whole point is a "sugared petals" scent profile and that's exactly what this perfume delivers. It opens heavily with bergamot, not patchouli as some reviews mistakenly said, and the pear raspberry combo lingers on top for a while. After a few moments you can catch the sugar, it's not rich or heavy like a straight gourmand a la Killian Love Don't Be Shy or Sabrina Carpenters perfumes with their super sweet profiles. It's delicate in this one; it works in tandem with the floral because it's not supposed to be fighting the floral for attention or drowning it in caramelized brown sugar misery, it's the supporting role. The sugar is what allows the middle notes to shine as it wears down. The jasmine and orange blossom joins the bergamot and fruity sugar perfectly, it smells like a bouquet lightly dusted with confectioners sugar that someone who ate an orange very messily like an hour ago is now handing to you in the best way possible. Towards the latter half of its wear time you start to get those base notes more clearly, the patchouli and amber most notably, but the vanilla remains virtually undetectable throughout the wear time yet honestly I didn't find myself missing it at all. Again, if you know you're not a floral person yet you buy a floral forward perfume anyway, that is on you not the company nor the seller and makes negative reviews moot in my eyes. Also, a lot of people straight up do not know what bergamot smells like but do you know how sage, lemon rinds, and untreated wood smells? Yeah, bergamot is kind of like that all in one for reference. If you hate the smell of sage, wood and/or lemon rinds, you'll hate bergamot. This is a masterpiece of a dupe, it is completely identical to YSL Mon Paris in every single way from the first spray all the way until it's completely worn off. I purchased Mon Paris regularly until I found this and decided to try it once my last YSL bottle ran out and I'm so glad I did. In a sea of popular gourmand perfumes that are so sweet it can make your teeth hurt and give you a migraine, this dupe (and Mon Paris itself) is a surprisingly lovely floral life raft. If you want to move away from the gourmands this is the perfect starting point, it's also very friendly as a starting point to explore more florals in general. I promise they're not all endless versions of "grandmas house if she left a bouquet to rot on the kitchen counter for a month" scent profiles. It just takes seriously careful reading of a perfumes notes, researching notes online that you may be unfamiliar with, and testing different things in order to find your perfect fits. But the biggest thing is researching notes and scent profiles you're not familiar with, that can save you a lot of time and money rather than wasting it on perfumes you'll hate the second you spray them. If you've made it this far, sorry for getting a little long winded I just seriously love Mon Paris and this dupe so so so much. Mon Paris is MY signature scent, people have complimented me on it since I started wearing it in college back in 2017, and I haven't had to ever worry about anyone smelling identically to me since the caramel sugar perfume craze started online about five years ago so I've proudly been a gatekeeping hater irl. I would've filled a bath tub full of it and soaked forever and ever if I had the means too, that's how devoted I am to this scent and I'm just over the moon to have found a perfect 1 to 1 dupe, because let's be real in the current economy it's just not feasible to be spending over a hundred dollars on perfume every month. So I will be an extremely happy and satisfied repeat customer of Dossier, as long as they keep making this dupe I know without a doubt I'll keep buying it. Don't let the other negative reviews scare you off this perfume or florals in general (tbh this may sound mean but don't ever let somebody who doesn't know the difference between bergamot and patchouli tell you anything about perfume ever in your life). If you go into it knowing the sugar and vanilla are not the dominant notes and are if anything only there as support notes, I think you'll have a much more pleasant experience with it especially if this is a blind but for you. ... show more

  • It’s PERFECT
This is such a beautiful scent! It is so similar to YSL Mon París. It’s almost identical but it’s somewhat gentler?

  • Just Like YSL
This is literally an exact dupe of YSL’s Mon Paris!! Mon Paris has been my signature scent for YEARS but as of lately I’ve been switching to cheaper alternatives because it can be pricey to keep up with buying the full size. I saw this and was curious to try it out and it works amazing. The scent is long lasting (I spray primarily on my clothing) and I have already received several compliments on it. I will be buying again! ... show more

  • Doesnt smell like the name suggests
I agree with the reviewer who said this is a floral scent. I cant detect any fruit or sweetness of brown sugar. It's not terrible, my S.O. loves it on me. It's just not the first perfume I grab.

  • This stinks
No this really stinks I’m not even joking. It has a stereotypical “old lady Avon” scent. I love YSL Mon Paris, so I bought this to see if I could use it as a body spray on days where I don’t want to wear my perfume. It literally smells NOTHING like the original. It doesn’t even smell good enough to use as a poop spray ... show more

  • AMAZING perfume!!
WOW!!! I can’t believe that this perfume is not Yves St Laurent Mon Paris!! My sister in law wears the “real” thing and always smells so fabulous. I wanted to try it on myself but just couldn’t afford to be so frivolous with the expense. I did purchase a trial size of the real Mon Paris and I really loved it on me too. So, I perused around trying to find a dupe that really comes close. I found the review for Dossier Fruity Brown Sugar to be quite good, as well as the price being amazing. I was a little hesitant with its name…because to me, I’m not getting any brown sugar or fruity vibes from it. It purely smells like YVes Mon Paris, and I feel I have a very good sense of smell. I had a dab of the real perfume left and did a test on each arm. The dupe and the Mon Paris are very identical and lasted the same amount of time. I went out the other evening and sprayed lightly on my wrist, clothes and hair. The scent remained on my clothes and hair into the next day! It’s just a lovely, sophisticated scent. I wouldn’t say it’s sweet at all…just very upscale and beautiful! I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Lovely but fleeting!
I've never smelled the original, but I love the smell of this! It's fruity and sweet but not gourmand. Like only the delicate topnotes of a raspberry macaron. Feels very chic and grown up, but not stuffy or perfume department-y. Super, super wearable. Not overpoweringly strong. I will say, in my experience: the longevity of this scent is just not there. The scent is medium strong at the start, but I've found it fades on clothes, skin, and hair after an hour or two at most. I've even tried layering it over balms for more staying power, but it doesn't help much. For the price point, this is nice as a spritz right before you leave the house. But you should definitely take note that it's not an all-day scent. ... show more
