  • Patience & don’t get in a hurry
Patience and don’t get in a hurry 2000 Suburban replaced all brake lines with truck on jacks on patio, read other reviews great info there, including walking around, smoking , drinking and cussing 🤬 lol. Rear brake line went in from left wheel fender area as stated by other reviews, all front line went in from front. When you pull old brake lines out pay attention to routing , a little bowing and gentle twist or two will eventually get lines in place. I believe Great Value for $$, and yes they are not exact….. but pretty close and a whole lot better than factory lines ... show more

  • 90% Fit for OEM lines, the way to go for a full replacement
Replaced lines on 2001 Suburban about 2 months ago. Not a job for a beginner. These Dormans are quality lines, thick, well made with quality connectors and flanges. They are SS and very stiff, so it is difficult to thread them through after you remove the old ones. In the end, all of mine didn't line up perfectly to snap back into the brackets, so it doesn't look the best, but they work fine and passed state inspection for safely. The hardest to thread is the front right. Never lined up quite right, to fit down neatly inside the front framing member, but it works. I had blown both the small rear lines previously, so when one of the main lines blew, I decided for safety to go ahead and replace them all. Important note- the line that runs to the rear is pretty much impossible to replace if you can't do a frame detach and lift (which I didn't have the equipment for). It sits on a plate above the spare tire. Even if you can get a wrench on it, you can't get any leverage to break it free. I ended up just cutting that line and leaving it in place and rigging the new one with a handmade bracket to a more accessible point. ... show more

  • Good quality set of lines
These are very good quality brake lines. Worth the savings over other brands. These are solid stainless steel lines. The bends are fairly accurate, maybe not perfect but close enough. I needed to start with the longest run, front RH wheel on my 02 Suburban 1500. When I saw how long this line was I was like oh no it will never go in but with some patience it did. Most need to be installed from underneath the vehicle just take your time and it will work out. They are very hard to bend, except for where the shipping bends a re. They are extremely solid but can be flexed enough to attach to the brake fittings. I am satisfied with the purchase. ... show more

  • Stainless Steel (SS) Lines With Issues
The lines have been on the vehicle for several months without problems. The lines are vary hard SS. First, if these lines are not aligned exactly to the ABS module, the connection will leak when the line flare end is torqued down. Damage to the ABS controller could result. Second, the line from the ABS controller to the right front wheel is too long and will "bow" slightly inside the engine compartment, but will fit. Third, the line from the ABS controller to the rear can be installed by pushing it forward from the left rear wheel well and the line from the ABS controller to the right front wheel can be installed from the vehicle front. These two installations are not easy, but can be done. ... show more

  • Great value
I have used 4 sets of these lines over the past few years on different vehicles. These sets eliminate alot of time trying to splice in a patch into a rusty line or bend a line out of a bulk coil and then have to flare the line too. All said they seem to give reliable service and elimate any question if I am going to have a future brake line issue. ... show more

  • 02 GMC Yukon XL - 5.3 FFV - 4X4 With limited Slip Diff - 373 Rear End - Double Piston R-Cal
EXCELLENT PRODUCT! I'm no auto mechanic, but mechanically inclined with some cool tools. I have installed brake lines on various truck I've owned in the past - typical steel straight lines. Honestly, I was worried about how these lines would slide into the rats-nest with all their bends and twists. Thinking they would snag everywhere, plus you cannot bend stainless line easily with your hands. MAN WAS I IN FOR A TREAT! These lines slid right in place (with some slight bowing needed). Couldn't believe it... The ends actually lined up pretty good to the port connections (extremely important to not cross thread). They showed up in plastic bags in a long cardboard box (maybe 4 ft long). They have all the taps and flanges finished on each end. They are labeled "bend here" in various locations, on the long lines, for shipping (no problem bending these locations by hand). This job took me 4 hrs of PREP and removal, 3.5 hrs of actual installation (ABS to rear splitter already done a year ago), and 1 hr of power bleeding (smoke breaks and cuss-walking included in time lines). After installation was complete, I noticed they didn't total go 'perfectly' back into the factory locations; however, very close where they needed to be (just think, the original lines where installed prior to the body and frame marriage). I would absolutely recommend these lines to anyone debating steel, straight lines or pre-bent stainless... For sure! I have replaced window motors, door locks, and other components from Dorman on this vehicle with much success. I have a few pictures aswell, sure wish these lines were GM installed from the get-go! Hope this review takes a little stress off of my fellow shade-tree wrenchers.. Thanks Amazon and Dorman, ... show more
