  • Good replacement.
The grade of metal is not as robust as oem but it works great and should last long enough. Im ordering another for the other side of the truck.

  • Perfect replacement for 1992 F-150
The Dorman 38448 was an exact replacement for the striker assemblies on my 1992 F-150. The plastic bushing on my original equipment driver’s side striker had broken and fallen off, resulting in a bad-fitting door that left in wind noise and required slamming to properly close. The bushing on the passenger’s side door was cracked and ready to fall off. I ordered two strikers and replaced both in just a few minutes. Adjusting the door took about an hour. Now, both doors close and latch perfectly. This is an easy fix for a problem that will drive you nuts if you don’t know what is going on. I didn’t realize the bushing had fallen off until comparing the driver’s side and the passenger’s side. Once that was determined, I found a bunch of YouTube videos that showed how to make your own bushings from PEX. Thinking that approach as only a short term fix, I ordered the new strikers. The originals lasted thirty years; if I get half of that, I will be very content. ... show more

  • 1993 Ford F-150 Owner - It Works
This works. Take a minute to line it up correctly, make sure it's in the best position. Requires some slams and shoves when closing and opening the doors to break them in, but the rattles are gone and the resistance gets better over time with use.

  • Need a little tweaking of the plastic roller (Includes tips to fix it along with a saggy door)
as with all these replacement door strikes for ford vehicles cars trucks etc 1980s to late 90s you have to disassemble them and sand the outer diameter 1/16" total off the OD or they stick & you have to be a gorilla & use both hands to open the door if used as they are received first one I bought years ago tried waiting for it to wear a bit, tried graphite spray (Mistake its black & stains the paint) tried grease silicone spray etc. save you self the time and just reduce the OD take it apart use aluminum brass or wood in the jaws so you don't damage the threads push it up to the jaws slightly use plumbers sand cloth to reduce the diameter a few swipes with the cloth then turn it & repeat till you you have sanded the full OD a bit install it put a dab of grease in the latch open & close it a few times the wipe off any excess Hint if you notice the area behind the old one it makes it easy to realign if the door is sagging on your ford car or truck buy these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082B19CY1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 support the door loosen the top hinge door side only (not the hinge behind the fender) let the door down a bit carefully drill out the top of the pin with a 3/8" drill bit use a pin punch or long bolt 1/4" ---- drive out the pin remove the 2 bolts holding the door side hinge tap out the bushings install the new ones loosely install the hinge again lineup the pin in the holes install the nut a viola U B Done (takes about an HOUR or so to do) ... show more

  • Not exact fit for my 1996 F150.
Very good for the price. Very easy to install. Like other reviews that I read, could not shut & open door easily until I used a Variable Speed Rotary Tool (Dremel) to remove some material (a small file could be used). I just shut the door a few times to make marks on the material, then removed it until the marks were gone. Repeat until door shuts & opened easily. Unlock the passenger door or at least have the key in case you can't pull the door open the first time. It will be tight. ... show more
