  • It just fits!
When I discovered that the factory drain pan on my 2006 Buick Rainier did not have a drain plug, I was a little bit irritated, especially after seeing tutorial videos where transmission oil went everywhere during pan removal. Once I realized that I would want to do another drain and fill within the year, I figured that an aftermarket pan would be a good investment! I got my old pan off, made a decent mess but was able to keep from being a full-on oil spill, and this new pan went on as easily as I could ever hope! It's been several days and I have no leaks whatsoever. While life is easier for my future self, I would also like to say that the build quality of this pan is very nice! My old pan was corroded and flimsy, so seeing something solid with a nice finish was also a nice perk. I definitely recommend this. ... show more

  • Deep pan transmission cover 4L60e

  • If you have to pull the pan replace it with one with a drain plug
My son just started driving and one of the valves in the transmission had to be replaced. It’s a 20 year old car and did not have a drain plug. This makes it 100x cleaner and easier to replace the filter than breaking the seal at the pan and praying.

  • Works fine with a drain plug.
Like others say. Value for money. I like a plug with a magnet and "Honda" aluminum crush gasket. Fel Pro gasket has no leaks I see vs OEM drip so functions well. Yes remove extension in way, one bolt. Reman transmission in Dec 2023. Just had mechanic do it as in shop already. I will replace drain bolt myself as didn't use Mishimoto magnetic with aluminum nor swap magnet from old pan.. Huge earth magnets put on bottom next to drain bolt. 2004 Chevy 1500 RWD with 4L60 ... show more

  • Drain Plug Leaks...buy Dorman 65270 to accompany this pan or get an alternative washer
The pan is of good quality and was a perfect fit on a 1999 Chevrolet S10 2.2L. The plug is the ONLY reason I got the new pan to facilitate transmission fluid changes. I hadn't on planned on doing a two time drain/fill but now I have to to replace the gasket. I'll be ordering a new gasket: which, according to another review is: Dorman 65270. Since I didn't have an alternative to the brass crush washer on hand I was forced to use a high tack sealant on the area around the drain plug. I'll be monitoring closely until the replacement washer arrives. I had to give this one star to bring to attention the fact that, as-is, this is problematic. Dorman should recall outstanding units and replace the washer. I'll try to report back the success of the new washer. ... show more

  • Fits perfectly on 1999 Suburban (K1500), if you have the right filter installed.
This pan fits perfect on my 1999 Chevy Suburban (K1500). I have read some reviews that others with a 1999 Suburban/Tahoe, reported this pan would not fit, they said the dented corner on the pan would hit something on the transmission, keeping it from bolting on. I called Dorman and talked to a rep that said he saw no reason that it wouldn't work. The original pan on my Suburban was a "deep" pan, with no dented corner. After I removed the old pan, I put the new Dorman pan up to match the holes to make sure it would bolt up. It seamed fine, so I pulled out the old filter and installed the new filter and put the pan up to start putting in the bolts. Then I noticed the "dented" corner wasn't going all the way up to seal, so it was hitting something. I didn't know why, so I took out the new filter and matched it up to the old filter, they were almost identical, execept the old filter had one corner "clipped", the new filter didn't. Either filter would have worked with my old pan, but the filter has to have that clipped corner to allow the Dorman pan to fit. I went back to the autopart store to match to old filter to a new one, but none of the filters they had for my 1999 Suburban had the clipped corner, so we looked at the Dorman web site for all the Chevy vehicles that the pan fit (with the same transmission), and then we looked up some of the newer model trucks for their filters. Even though it is the same transmission, different filter part numbers came up in the search and we found one of them that had the clipped corner. I was just luck, that the last time I had the transmission serviced, the filter they put in, had the clipped corner, or I would have never got this Dorman pan to fit. ... show more

  • Good Quality Part
The oil pan fit as expected in a 98 K1500 Suburban. No issues with fitment as another person indicated on a 99 Tahoe. I used mine with an AC Delco filter kit. Yes, there is a drain plug, which is why I bought it. The factory pan did not have one. I did a flush at the same time which drained the OEM pan so that only 1/4" of fluid was left anyway. I am not sure this pan was needed but no fault of the pan! Pros: The pan fits as expected. Metal is heavy gauge steel. Cons: It's made in China. The drain plug seal leaks. I need to go and get a fiber one to replace it. If the drain plug sealed properly, it would get 5 stars. ... show more
