My household frequently purchases bulk snack items, so when I found the cool ranch Doritos, I was elated! Very few places offer the cool ranch snack size bags...most choices include other flavors or brands, with only a small percentage being the cool ranch. The closest I've found, in local stores, is the mixed variety Doritos, 10 pk, with 5 original and 5 cool ranch. The originals end up stale, by the time they are eaten. We have gotten more than one box of these and each time the expiration date is usually not far off, a couple of month at the most. This wasn’t a deal breaker for me because my kids go through them pretty fast but the last box we got was the end of our subscription. Several bags of these chips in the box were no good. My son complained that a few different bags of the chips he got were weird and he didn’t eat them and ended up throwing them away. I wasn’t sure exactly what he meant but then I opened a bag one day and all the chips in the bag seemed to be folded up like an accordion and super hard, I could barely bite into one. Then another day when I was driving with my oldest son he opened a bag to snack on and was eating them happily so I also opened a bag while driving and tossed one in my mouth to be met with a soggy Doritos. I immediately spit it out horrified. The entire bag was stale and filled with soft chips, it was awful enough to make me not want another bag of Doritos from that box again.
