This is the thickest, chunkiest pizza sauce ever. I was watching a youtube pizza making video and they highly suggested using this product if you're not making homemade sauce. I am so glad I did because it was really delicious. Lots of tomatoey flavor. I think the price was too much but wasn't sure if I would find any because I have never seen or heard of this brand. I was hoping for something with a little flavor to it. What a major letdown. This sauce is just tomato sauce with very little flavor. Not to mention, Both cans were Badly DENTED! I’ll stick to making my own.

Retail pizza sauce has always been a disappointment for us, relying on overpowering Italian spices like Oregano and Basil in very wrong proportions. Recently, we had pizza at a small restaurant and the sauce was the star flavor of their pie. I asked the waiter if it was homemade and he said no, the crust was but not the sauce. He went to the kitchen to look at the brand and it was Don Pepino. Amazon to the rescue - we ordered some to try. Sure enough, the sauce is that same excellent flavor we had at the restaurant. I gave this a 4 star because it was good, but my fussy palate didn’tlive it. High quality. Lots of tomato--thick not runny. High priced, but the volume is considerable.
