    • Great range and features - remote control just isn't for my liking

Overall this is a terrific training collar, but it's just not as easy for me to use. Having used it for a couple of weeks now, I still have trouble using it primarily due to the button layout and placement and remote weight. Perhaps if the screen was smaller the buttons could be higher placed on the remote. I constantly hit the wrong button if I'm in a hurry to use it. Fortunately the shock function is locked out as I set it to be, but even to make a vibration or noise, I often miss the opportunity because of the button flow and placement. Now there are numerous product strengths being that the range and response time from command to reaction is immediate and impressive...on my other device, I press a button and the collar response appears to be off, whereas this one seems to work immediately and at a very long distance too. It has a good vibration strength and intensity and it works for my pups. I don't use the shock so I can't comment on that. The collar is nice and I like the light indicator too. Programming is very easy overall, again, it's just the execution that doesn't work for me. For those who have never used one of these training devices before, you probably won't have the same experience and it will work very well for you. Very well designed training collar it has 3 modes it does a noise mode which is a high pitched sound to get there attention, vibration mode which vibrates the collar ,an shock mode and all modes have adjustable intensity an all the controls are very easy to use and understand plus both the collar an transmitter are rechargeable so u don't have to buy batteries we live in the mountains of wv an our new dog can be stubborn and likes to take off into the woods and will only come back when he is ready an this collar has made a crazy difference fast we normally start with the sound mode if he doesn't listen we go to vibrate then to shock an after a few times he quickly learned that if he doesn't listen he will eventually get shocked an now we barely ever need to use the shock mode an normally comes back quickly once we hit the sound mode it also has a light so u can see the collar glowing making it easier to locate him at night an the range seems good as well we haven't had him get far enough that it doesn't work yet an sometimes he wanders pretty far so for anyone who has a stubborn dog that is hard to train I would definitely highly recommend this collar since it has changed our dog dramatically in jus a few weeks we actually were able to take him in the woods with us last weekend an didn't even have to push any buttons an he stayed rgt with us another tip would be to use a command word anytime before you push any button that's what we did an it seems like he caught on pretty quick that if he didn't respond to the verbal command then his collar would vibrate or shock him an pretty quickly started to respond to the verbal command without the need for the collar we still put it on him just in case but rarely need to use it but before the collar he would literally just take off on his own path an not listen to a word you said an a few times it took hours to finally catch him so this is definitely worth the investment if u have a dog that likes to run off ... show more

    • No Lanyard. Only charges one receiver at a time. Poorly placed buttons.

On the good side: My dogs react well to the vibration. I suppose it's my fault... ordering a dog training tool without any accomodation for a lanyard. It means fumbling around to pull the remote from my pocket, and then by the time I've focused my eyes, and hit a button to check which dog it's addressing, the moment has passed. The training becomes less effective. It's also clumsy how the three buttons are placed low on the transmitter. It means taking the time to look at the transmitter and carefully placing my finger on the correct button while the remote teeters in my hand. (The Amazon FireTV remote has 11 buttons and I don't need to look. My thumb can reach every button while it remains balanced in my hand.) Another major complaint is the fact that the included cable only charges one receiver at a time, and being proprietary, I don't know how to get a second one. SUGGESTION: Why not a button for each dog instead of a button for each activation? Let the selection button alternate between shock, vibrate, and tone. Then there would be only two buttons, that could be placed in a balanced, comfortable position. Also, give us a place to attach a lanyard. ... show more

Used to help with barking a I liked the vibrate and buzz features, and that you can lock the shock part so it isn’t used. But the collars stretched out, the prongs come loose easily, and my dogs wrestle and could open the unit. For the price I paid, I expected better.
