I was looking for a solution to get into my small off road camper. The doorway is high enough that you have to turn around and jump up to get in, then roll your body in. After many hours of searching I came to the conclusion that this was my best cost to quality option. When I received it, the first thing I did was spray rhino lining on it. I realize they won't rust as they're aluminum, but I wanted it to match the undercarriage of the camper. Once that dried, I measured for where to place the holes, then drilled and installed directly to the outside frame. I would have loved to have hidden the top of the steps, but it simply wasn't an option for me. I drilled my holes, but found the bolts provided weren't going to get through 2 sides of the frame so I did have to pick some up locally. They bolted right up and now the appearance is as if they came with the camper. I haven't had a chance to use them camping yet, but the testing in my driveway has me confident they'll work just fine. If you're unsure due to cost, it's a small investment compared to the other options. It's true these do not come with instructions, but there are resources available. these were easy to install and feel sturdy! didn’t put in the top screw because they didn’t want to penetrate without ruining the threads, but still feel sturdy with me (195lbs) bouncing up and down on them!

The instructions weren’t very clear with this product or other similar single steps, so having a friend or family member with prior knowledge or YouTube will definitely help you with installation! Otherwise, the aluminum step is very strong holding up to 300-350lbs! Very good for a budget friendly project! ... show more

How does this happen? It's ridiculous that these steps made it in a box. Somebody took a grinder to one and cut the mounts off. Don't they have any quality control at this company. DNA Motoring SSTEP-BK Pair Black Aluminum Side Hoop Steps Compatible With Most Pickups This is a decent aluminum painted black, step that attaches to the Pick up. It can be installed in various settings, my pick up has a flat surface on the back side of the rocker panels so it just bolted on. The step has to be drilled for the bolt for my installation on a 1986 Chevrolet K10 Deluxe Custom. It looks like the installation would be very flexible. The ONLY PROBLEM is you dont get any instructions. I had to peruse yTube to see how to install this step, after that it was an easy job to do. It comes with plenty of nuts, bolts washers and some brackets for the installation. The step is attractive and sturdy. My truck has a 4" rise and I am short so it came in very handy.
