This is a very cute craft. Some pieces didn’t fit so I had to either sand a lot or remove the tabs altogether. But that was no big deal for me. The staircase was a total nightmare. It took me three days because I had to walk away sometimes as I got very frustrated. The cat that was included was hideous. I didn’t use it. Not a big deal. A fun little kit to put together. The wood pieces are already all cut and punched out for you so you just have to assemble everything. There's paper pieces you have to cut out but I like that a lot of the leaves for plants are already perforated so you just pop those out nice and easy. I really liked the end result! ... show more

WHAT: DIY Miniature Dollhouse Kit - Pet Club FOR WHO: * This is for advanced crafters or people with a lot of patience who are willing to learn. * Teens and Adults who enjoy crafting and miniatures with skill and patience. * Fun for people who like to customize - the pet shop is cool as is but easily lends itself to customization. WHERE I'M AT: I've pulled out and examined the materials and read the instructions. I've built similar kits and it takes me a long time. I look over everything. Read the instructions. Watch any videos available. Then I plan the customizations that I like to make. For me, it's not about finishing fast, it's a relaxing activity and I take my time and make everything just the way I want it. I'm writing this review based on my examination of this kit and my experience. WHAT I LIKE: 😀 So many details! 😀 Customizable - make it your way! 😀 Cute concept - lots of fun pet stuff in the "club" 😀 Fun activity WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED: 😖 The paper elements are printed on plain paper - like printer paper. I'm going to copy mine onto better quality paper. The paper they're printed on is not going to last long. 😖 5 pets are shown but only 2 are included. 😖 The only color on the included white cat is 3 sloppy globs of pink - 2 for the eyes and one for a mouth. I plan to repaint it. 😖 The leaves are just solid green and, if you pop them out and don't trim, then there's little nubs around the outside of them. Since neither the leaves nor the flowers look nice, I'm going to make my own. 😖 Instructions are OK but not as good as other sets. Fortunately there's several you tube videos that I found with people building this. 😖 Some pieces are fragile and will require extra care. The staircase railing looks thin. 😖 This not giftable. WHAT YOU NEED: * Nail file type sanding block or small bit of sand paper. A tiny piece of sandpaper is thrown in but it won't last long and isn't very good. * While glue is included, I prefer to use my own. I like B-7000 because it has a tiny applicator and dries quickly. TIPS: * Take your time and gently press on the pieces to remove them. Some are fragile. * Sand off any splinters before placing piece. * Think before you glue. Once it's glued in place - it's not coming off. Read a few steps ahead. Don't glue until absolutely necessary. A little drop of glue is usually enough. * Read & understand the instructions but remember that it's your kit to do your way like you like it. Online videos are helpful. ... show more

Unlike other kits Ive used, the kit has these holes that you use to make them fit like puzzle pieces. But the holes are ALL at least a few cms off from where they should be, making almost none of the pieces fit. Before I was using a knife to reshape the pieces but after doing this numerous times, im ready to just throw the kit away. Very disappointing ... show more

    • haven't assembled yet but everything looks great!
i am so looking forward to setting this up! everything is packed well in individual bags which i opened to make sure all pieces were accounted for. the quality is great and each piece is pretty much ready for assembly, the "ease" of which will depend on your skill and patience levels. this could be a fun project for older children and adults to do together but given set-up and drying times, it could also be frustrating. like anything, miniatures really are a wonderful hobby IF you absolutely love the rewarding experience over instant gratification! ... show more
