I bought this costume for myself in a size Large; I'm usually a 4-6 in women's and I do costume characters for parties and special events. I was really impressed. The dress fits great and is good quality for the price. It's shorter on me as I'm not a kid, but still modest. If it didn't have costume velcro closures up the back, and it weren't solid polyester, I'd wear it on a normal day! The wig was also good. I'm not sure what all the complaining was about; it is covered in a hard gluey substance, but that makes it piecey so that it looks like the cartoon. I was able to style it just fine; you just have to shove the pieces around until they move into place on your head. It's not supposed to be like normal, soft hair. And it does have shimmery pieces in it, it's not just blue. The wig was a bit small, not covering my ears like the cartoon, but still covering my hair. I got a ton of compliments and every kid knew exactly who I was when I showed up, running to greet me and give me big hugs. ... show more

Costume is good. I think my daughter had grown since I've ordered anything her size... Because the Velcro tabs in the back of the dress were snug. The material colors are vibrant, the blue parts are a metallic blue. So adorable. The wig is good. The correct blue and it has little metallic treads through the wig to bring sparkle. Bought a large for my 5'3", 100 lb daughter. The dress fit her perfectly although she only wore it once. The wig is stiff and ugly as noted and a little small - but it serves a purpose. Overall good value.

Great costume for the price! The dress is made of standard thin costume material but it didn't matter because it's cold here on Halloween and she would have needed to wear something under it anyway. Some reviewers said the wig was terrible but I think it was spot on for Joy. If you've actually seen the movie, the wig looks exactly like Joy's hair, down to the sparkle. It did come flattened (obviously) and needed a day or two and a bit of styling to be just perfect but it was easy! Put the wig on something round, facing the right direction and you can easily see the style, with longer bits framing the face area, just like the character. As to the comfort/scratchiness? After reading the reviews, I figured she wouldn't wear it more than 5 minutes but my very very sensitive (as in, "argh! My sock is on slightly crooked!!") 5 year old wore this all day at school and all evening for trick or treating. Overall, a great buy and no real issues! ... show more

The dress was great but the wig was like a rabid blue porcupine of pain, so we had to come up with something else (blue LED barrette lights with long fiber-optic tails, tied up into a short ponytail. It was awesome!)

This was purchased for my five year old daughter. She loves it. It is very comfortable and she appreciates a comfortable (non-itchy) costume. The wig is great for an inexpensive costume. It is sort of stuff but the hair is thick and there’s a stand-up mini pony tail on the top. It is good enough! It also comes with a net for your hair to go in before wearing the wig. ... show more
